Mmm, I find it's less about 'what' they're feeling so much as 'why'. That's what tends to work the best for me.

Honestly, I think there's nothing nearly as damaging to the Town as the average Townie. :|

*flaps hands*

@Ika: I don’t have a name in mind yet. But I have a soft spot for puns. And math jokes. And math jokes that are puns. Mashing usernames together is okay too. It would be funny because we wouldn’t have to sign our posts, everyone would know that the short posts are you and the long posts are me. (this is an exaggeration, i would have to sign my one liners still)

@Vyse: sure! See you around and have a good break

@Titus: yay! you can show me VCA and I can show you my +- thing.

@Cerberus: sounds fun!

@Mollie: *hug*

I think despondency might be a town tell for me but I’m reluctant to describe the exact conditions neccessary to provoke it in me (it wasn’t just the things i said in thread, though those were all true; there was a particular aspect of the situation that set me off. It was okay that it happened by accident this game because I knew that it wasn’t being done on purpose but if it did start happening on purpose as an alignment test, that would get old really quickly.)

thank you for the words plot. i've enjoyed playing with you (twice now, i think)

i'm sorry for the way in which i contributed to the faulty setup spec post-death. i think if i had taken a bit more time to craft a more optimal claim it might have, like, delayed one mislynch. heh

This. In almost eight years on this site, I've never ever complained about the way a mod runs their game. Honestly, the whole thing was bullshit. The LYLO loss was a direct result of the mod's decision to replace a player outside the parameters of the rules. That slot shouldn't have been replaced when it was--- Brantz wasn't voting and the game should have went to night.

It was about ending the game on a good note, not about balance. Plotinus and BC can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that this was a better / more interesting result than "lol we won cuz scum flaked at deadline".

Yes. So the obvious plan is work with me to kill the unkillables, once that's done with we can duke it out.

I could have pot shotted you on any of like 3 days, but I instead chose to duke it out during the day like a man.

I will always be bitter. Once you tried to kill me, neither of us could win the game.

I stuck to this plan and also was killed by oranje.

As I said in the dead thread, I wish my claim was real. The actual powers from our scum team did not come in handy, especially with only 2 of us.

@Marquis: only this once that i’m aware of, but i’ve spectated some of your games. look forward to future games.

@Not_Mafia: I’ve cooled off and I want to appologise. You were handed an unwinnable wincon and that absolutely sucks. I’ve been there before when my wincon changed on the other site, my only win chance was to force 3 coinflips by tying the votes several times, and convince my team that the reason i was doing this wasn’t because my wincon had changed but because it was mathematically superior for everyone’s wincon instead of just mine, which it wasn’t but I left the reason why it wasn’t out of my arguments. It sucked and then I lost the coinflip game over. So have some empathy for getting dragged into this mess. This wasn’t your fault.

You guys were mean to the newbie, he got offended and flipped out, and then everyone ganged up on him saying stuff like "fuck you" or "you're an asshole" but then some of those same people (kuribo) mentioned that they have their own personal issues with other phrases that would make them flip out. What a great double standard there is.

Would it have been okay if I was Oranje Crush and said something like "anyone scumreading me is just a dumb faggot" or "anyone scumreading me is just a stupid chink" or something? No, it would not.

Shame on you guys for being hypocrites and contributing to the toxic atmosphere. Situations like that are why new players go elsewhere.

1) I kinda agree in regards to insulting other players. Honestly, while I can brush that stuff off most of the time, I find that the single most difficult factor in getting friends to join is the general atmosphere of the site. There are a bunch of cool people here, but there's some egos (real or fake) that make it a lot less fun on occasion, and it's a tense game anyway.

2) What Death did was completely unsportsmanlike & problematic as well. It doesn't justify the original insult, but he definitely crossed a line in regards to self-control that makes it very difficult for me to sympathize with him.

3) I'm not sure what you're hoping to accomplish by jumping in a thread you didn't play in, to berate the players as a whole for this incident. I mean, whatever your intentions are, you're throwing sparks freely around a potential fuel fire. I don't think this is the most constructive way to go about things.

/shrug

I was loosely following this game and felt strongly about that incident.

There was a thread in MD not too long ago where many users expressed concern about the long-term health of MS.net and I think this is an example of what drives users away.

It's also as if this philosophy is trying to curtail a valid strategy to turn mafia into a robot/logic game.

I can get nasty as town, too, though.

It's definitely a different sort of mean, and I'm probably more hurtful when I flip out as town.
