A deadline means the town gets no real chance to find out who's scum, and almost always results in an almost random lynch, because there's no time to bandwagon, get a claim, and move on. This is usually bad for the town, and although deadlines are necessary almost every game, asking for them is usually not a good sign.

Hi everyone, and sorry for not posting anything for a long time. I blew up my hard disk while taking it to a friend's place and I will be getting one this week sometime, so in the meantime, I will not be able to post messages frequently till then, and I cannot afford to go to Internet Cafés everyday, so forgive me for that. If it is the wish of everyone, I do not mind being replaced by someone else in this game. So DP, if you feel like it, do replace me.
The case is, similar thing happened to me in the last game, and this is another coincidence that I participate in a game, and my comp goes FUBAR. So, I do hope I will be allowed to play in next game. I will try to post as frequently as I can, but no worries if I am replaced.

Yeah, deadlines are bad especially for a random lynch in such a small game. That's why I voted for spookylou. And why I am very suspicious of StD as well. Consider your FOS:StD just that much bigger.

Asking for a deadline was not scumy at all. She obviously wanted more talking and asked for a deadline. I was thinking the same. Deadline=more talking.

By my count at this point, Otaku and Morpheus have 3 votes each, and Lou has one. You'd think Otaku and Morpheus were equally scummy, but let's look at where their votes are coming from.

For Otaku: we have a random vote from Tep, who's posted once since, and says he might need to be replaced; a OMGUS vote from Spookylou; and what seems like a legitimate vote from Morpheus. Now, Otaku did say

A little scummy, except he was talking about wanting a deadline, which is a reasonable reason to vote someone.

So Morpheus doesn't really have much to stand on there.

Speaking of Morpheus, he has: My initially random vote, which became an actual vote when he got all angry at me and my vote; StD, who seemed to be mostly agreeing with me, with a side of OMGUS; and Dutchman, who explained himself quite well enough in his own post.

to sound scummy) but we have to lynch someone. Otaku and Morpheus are both one vote away, and I think that Morpheus is more likely to be scummy than Otaku. If, in fact, you are not scum, now is about the time to start defending yourself, Morpheus.

Well...both Morpheus and Otaku are looking kinda suspicious to me...but he's right...

I'm not ready to take my vote off of Morpheus yet...Morpheus can't vote for himself, Tepiltzen is away, and I don't the Spookylou is scummy, so I don't think that they'll swich and kill Morpheus right away. And obviously you haven't switched your vote...I dunno if you are truely pro-town or if switching your vote would make you look mafia.

What about explaining Deadline=more talking? Threat of deadline may encourage posting, but an actual deadline will almost always cut short any lengthy discussion and rush a lynch. That's bad. I await what nonny has to say.

This is really all I have found odd so far. The random vote thing was all overreaction, so it seems. The only major thing is StD does seems to defend himself a lot, but then again so do most of you others too. The deadline seemed like a good thing you did start discussing more, I doubt it was a scummy ploy.
