Played some real games last night for the first time in a while. Peg/Zito botlane still at LCS standards. Accept no substitutes.

Insult to injury, whenever I log in to the LoL client now to test it, I see the notification that my ranked ELO is about to decay.

I checked, no .NET on my PC from before version 3.

Riot support emailed me a zip file that was a copy of the lol client/installer? It was just like the file you DL from their website and I couldn't see any obvious differences. Still failed. Not even the faintest idea what that was supposed to do.

I tried uninstalling the C++ 2005 runtimes that LoL installs and reinstalling LoL. It just reinstalls them and still fails. Tried running in compatibility mode for windows 7 and having windows 10 detect optimal settings for the game, still nothing.

Pretty fed up with riot support's opaqueness, nonresponsiveness and failure to listen to hints about the issue.


In slightly related news, I found that Civ 5 was broken on my PC and at first I thought it might be the same problem. All I had to do to fix that was have steam verify the game cache though and it updated and fixed it just fine.

Not a mis-used meme. I meant literally using something like sandboxie to run league without whatever other programs must be interfering.

are the times besides in lategame when you have a chance to take a turret but you shouldn't?

When there are more important objectives... Sometimes you might not want laning to end for whatever reason, but usually taking the tower is still better.. Finally, if you get a tower low and know you can take it whenever sometimes bouncing minions is a more important concer as you don't want the enemy to be able to safely farm freely. This last is one of the reasons in pro play you'll see champions not taking that last auto attach you know will destroy the tower: they want to avoid a freeze on their enemy's side of the map.

For example, showing 4 people to take botlane tier one turret (presuming your botlane had lost lane) past 20ish minutes with no vision whatsoever on baron and an enemy team that is playing with any sort of map awareness.

If your able to say Dive a Nasus every time he comes to lane and kill him, then don't get the tower, as the tower just increases his safety (I think Nasus is the main reason you'd ever not want to take a tower.)

That said, if you're going to lose something anyways, take the unfavourable trade. At least you got

. (Ex. If the enemy team is forcing dragon during laning phase and your jungler is near topside, if you can force kill + turret, do it. Dragon is worth more because of the boosts it gives + the threat of dragon 5, but you weren't able to contest dragon in the first place and at least you got something out of it).

how does one decide if they should have health runes instead of armor runes and vice versa?

Flat health yellows and flat health quints are good for cheesy level 1-4 all-ins. If you're not hyper aggressive like that the armor is going to be better.

As for the nonflat ones I'm not sure. I'm saving up for the +1.5% health ones to play Warmograka though.
