I have been playing HoTS to detox from League and it's been pretty good. I'll prob come back to league, but I'm really enjoying this teamfight-focused game.

I played heimer into yas a few days ago with some scummers and it was miserable because (1) he could windwall my turrets while he took them out, particularly my ulted ones and (2) he could simply use my turrets as an extra place to dash to.

Against yas (and also champs like Zed who can also make costless assaults on my turrets but tends to lose to heimer anyway), I have to play extra aggressive and get morello's early so that I can lay turrets faster than yas can destroy them. I also tend to walk around the wind wall to either lay down my replacement turret, poke, or both. When yas succeeds in destroying all my turrets, I tend to retreat and hold out on replacing them until I have at least a couple stored up to place simultaneously. It could be that silver yasuos are just not as good at avoiding heimer's damage output as gold yasuos, or that the recent patch has finally put yasuo ahead of heimer somehow.

The games are certainly harder now, and I am not gaining huge LP any more.

Magic Pen Runes. Sorc's Boots, Void Staff, the regular jazz. Abyssal and Liandry's are another two I forgot but just remembered.

flat magic pen isn't great against MR, though. The more MR they have the less efficient it is. You want % pen from void staff.



After Void staff, you have three routes to go really: (1) stack AP (2) go utility (3) roam and let your teammates deal with the MR stacker.

Void Staff is the big one. Flat penetration is good no matter how much MR the enemy has, and better at low MR (though it also works well alongside Void Staff, since Void staff is applied before flat pen -- though both are applied after the Abyssal aura).

Also teemo is one of those weird characters that combine AP with autos so you can go split push mode and go runaan's+nashor's

Void Staff is best after 2-3 MR items, but I feel like landries is still super underrated somehow in this group. Because you don't buy liandries for its pen - you buy it for its %hp burn (which most big ticket MR items have plenty of). It's amazing against the kind of champs who stack mr.

Sure, but if they're really stacking huge amounts of MR, the 35% is hugely effective, but the flat pen still isn't that much. Let's say it's a Mundo who decided to (for whatever reason) go Spirit Visage (60) , Banshee's Veil (60), Guardian Angel (50), Aegis (35), LEvel 18 Mundo (53.4) he has a base MR of 258.4. Void staff reduces it to 167.96 (90.44 reduction), a huge huge gain. But Sorc Shoes+Liandry's+7.8magipen runes only reduces it to 130.16 (a 37.8 reduction).

Which is also even more damage for the tank/bruiser to have to deal with

Liandries is a better lane item, Void Staff is better after you have ap and/or enemy has several big ticket MR items.

RoA got buffed on the same patch. Not to the same silly extent as liandry's, but a buff nontheless. The issue I have and will have with rylai's on singed is that you basically buy it for the reduced slow (even if you get 5% extra post buff) on his poison. There are times where this is key, but otherwise you get a massive aoe slow in your kit, use that. For the tank stats, I think there are better items.

The point of getting the slow is that it minimally just increases your damage by 5% and maximally makes it literally impossible to chase or escape you.

i just played and won my first ranked game of heimerdinger. Forced to play top lane against Darius, I pulled him out. He seems like a really hard matchup for Darius, particularly because the build path already wants to build zhonyas #1. That said, i'm pretty sure our adc was getting elo boosted.

Also it qualified me for my next series on my zorasterful account. I've won 10 of my last 11 games and on a 7 game win streak.

Darius can't do anything to Heimerdinger in lane. Like, Heimderdinger is generally super oppressive against melees and Darius is the most melee melee to ever melee.
