What's everyone's view on him?
I haven't liked grapes for a good while now. his case on me, during Day 1, is pretty opportunistic, and when I called him out for making such case, he flat out denied it. Rather than acknowledge, he seemed to get really defense and tried to discredit my concern as a "weird semantics angle," which it wasn't at all, and then threatened me with "And I'll show you what a case actually looks like" (all found in
#571).
Looking back at Day 1, he asks a few different folks their thoughts about me before making this post....

she hasn't given any townreads, which feels pretty off
and yea i'll get flack for this but i got super beetlejuice vibes from her showing up directly after the dayvig and got a couple votes
like, it'd be another story if she had an outstanding super town catch up but it was pretty lackluster imo - just a lot of empty comments and like no hard stances taken, in particular didn't like the super waffle on ASP (who to anyone paying attention to the gamestate is pretty much the likeliest wagon to get traction right now)
1. He calls me out for not giving townreads. I don't understand how this could make myself, or anyone else, scummy, as there are many different ways to play the game.
2. I know the timing sucked when I got back to the game after the dayvig, but it wasn't to do with anyone calling me out. On a personal note, I have a fellowship in which I need to give a minimum of 20 hours a week. Real Life > Mafia is that unfortunate case there. My return to the thread as I was called out was just a horrid coincidence.
3. He says my catch up was lackluster with empty comments and no hard stances, but doesn't ask any questions of me to further expand on my thoughts.
4. He doesn't like my waffle on ASP, but I don't see that as a bad thing. I don't think uncertainty over lynching, at the time, a possible townie is scummy.
↑ grapes wrote:And I don't sense any real resistance to ASP, at all, though. Which worries me some. Yea I was enthusiastic about it earlier but I'm more meh on him now.
Like he hasn't even responded to the prod so it's not like he's thread dodging.
On the other hand I feel some invisible resistance to starbuck. In the form of not many peeps talking about her among other things.

Subject to change I guess. Like I said I'll be around. It's pretty dependent on her response to me at the end of the day, though.
So then, he finally votes me, but it's not for any reason other than some "invisible resistance" to me and folks not talking about me. How is that any good reason for a vote? It wasn't what I did, but what others didn't do?
In
#407, he calls me out again for not giving townreads, but after I give the list that he's been pining for, he calls me out for having a bunch of nulls because I don't know any of the player list. So I give him what he wants (a town reads list) and then it still isn't good enough because I don't know anyone well enough to have concrete reads. It's so hypocritical, it hurts, and why I'm already not liking this new mechanic of giving town reads because sometimes it takes me a day or two to get a good read on someone. It was that way even before my hiatus from MS.
Getting into Day 2, I felt I had a legitimate question about Dav, possibly, being 3rd party and wanted our town to consider it. I felt it was worth discussion, but there goes grapes with a further discredit of me....
↑ grapes wrote: ↑ Starbuck wrote:What's the chance of Dav having a 3rd party type alignment? Or is this game too small for that?
terrible post, testing the waters + a bit early to be 3P specing - also don't really get how so many peeps thought the ate tantrum yesterday was town at all
2 methods of discrediting me in this
1. Calling my question to terrible when, I believe, if it could be a threat to our town, that it is never too early to discuss.
2. Referring to my interactions towards the end of Day 1 as AtE
He follows this up, but denying his case on me during Day 1 (which is seen above) and plays it down as his thoughts being "scattered." They don't look all that scattered to me. This devolved into the hostility of 571.
It even continues to here when he asks for a vig on me.
↑ grapes wrote:As much as I'd love a starbuck vig, isn't she still stumped?
My interactions with grapes, past RVS, haven't felt that great in the least. I feel his push on Day 1 is extremely opportunistic and not based on anything concrete. He could have poised any of his concerns to me and I would have responded, instead he said that adding pressure, rather than being direct in what he was curious about, is a better alternative. I don't feel that to be a very town play in a game where garnering information, and asking questions, is paramount.
With that....
