It looks like you are just trying to make Spiffeh look scummy rather than discern his alignment.

Maybe not necessarily caught someone with it, but it has led to either a scummy reaction from them or town reaction, which has either led to the pursuit of their lunch or me backing off.

im reading into this interaction more and im really not seeing how maxous is being a hypocrite here.
to me it seems like hes saying that the majority of what spiff is doing comes across as him starting from a conclusion and working backwards, and despite agreeing that a point is valid, it doesnt discredit the rest of what maxous is saying and to boil down everything hes saying into "this is hypocritical!" comes across as reductive in a way i dont like.
talk to me about why maxous discredits his own case on spiff if hes scum whos grasping at straws.

Maxous's TLDR says that it appears Spiffeh is just trying to paint Itlepip as scum rather than determine his alignment. Spiffeh tells Maxous his main, (and from what I read)only point against Itlepip, and Maxous believes it is a good point. I don't think it makes sense to believe the only point on the wagon is good, and still believe it's only goal is to paint someone else as scum.
