if it's a scum read, warning you now: don't even start with this, or it'll be a repeat of swagwars, except a billion times worse because I'm actually town. continue at your own risk

At work, quick post. Having a bit of a hard time fully parsing the direction the Muffin/ffery discussion has taken since it seems to be a lot more player-meta-based than the earlier stuff of Muffin hashing ffery's reads out line by line.

Scum reads, in descending order

* Feysal: All the other stuff plus a continued lack of proactiveness. Disappearing once the heat got turned up on Bork and ffery has not escaped my notice, either.
* Bork: As mentioned before. I've seen nothing recently that has really swayed me to change my opinion.
* Shadowy: ^
* Gaiden: lol

Speaking of Gaiden, I am also willing to vote anyone else that has been publicly useless or near-useless (off the top of my head, priorities go !science > Katsuki >>>> GiF but I want to take another look at !science when I get home tonight so this may change).

Also would be willing to vote for Muffin, for as much as I'd bet a large sum of money that it wouldn't take. Admitting that the Chocola-over-Bork decision was pure risk/reward doesn't sit well with me at all.

Hooray being willing to vote for half the game! And this is without taking a second look at Keyboardsmash to see what all the fuss is about there. Where'd my mass-vote role go?
Well, this game happened.

I've also forgotten Sakura existed, whoops. That's largely due to not wanting to spend the energy rereading her in-depth until her claim about Day 2 resolves, though.
Well, this game happened.

Dear Kilgypoo,

Why are you willing to vote players you think are "useless" over players you actually have some sort of scum read on?

I've been very busy over the weekend/start of this week and haven't had the chance to review the game thread. As it stands, players I'd prefer to vote for are Relentless, Gaiden, and Not Science. I have yet to review Relentless, so I'll give him the benefit of doubt until then, and put my preferred lynch as one of Gaiden or Not Science.

I'm still busy and don't know if I'll get a chance to do anything before the end of this day phase and should probably go V/LA except it's not a vacation if it's work .____.

If pie's scum she won't let me live long. So, meh.

Admittedly part of my pleading for Sakura in our hood was because I wanted her opinion on pie too.

yeah because I sure don't have any basis for my own.

What does Sakura think of Gaiden lately?

idk she was vla but last I heard she was townreading him

And I'm not saying it's unfounded I'm just saying that's twice that you're hitting the exact chords I want to hear but I don't think they are exactly overly obscure? Like literally any of them know that I'd be hoping to be townread and giving me the townread will appease me somewhat and pie's also burned me somewhat recently so I can see people knowing thats who to try and make me spaz out on (which im trying really hard not to do tbh (BECAUSE SHE SHOULD SEEI M TOWN BY NOW))

pedit-

I wish I could kill everything :(

What was the first?

And yeah, I'm not really in the mood for subtleties atm. I'm pretty frustrated with this game for only being in it a couple days.

The thing about the townread on me being wht I wanted to hear and then the paranoia bit about pie

I'm trying to phrase it correctly but its basically

"I like being townread, and I am susceptible to pie-anoia" and you doing both kinda makes me do a double take but I'm really not sure I want to lynch you in the first place which is why my vote's on shadoweh!

I have been called wordy by more players than I can remember. Your first two phrases are new to me though.

Anyway, you seem to have misunderstood which game I'm using as reference for how to read Pieguyn, and Bork. Our last game together was Micro 537: EoSD where I was fooled by Pieguyn, which ended just before this one started.

Kilgamayan wrote:I'm mostly looking for something related to "his approach to reading me". I thought it was something other than what you're linking to there, but maybe I'm wrong? If it actually is, though, I think it would be kind of silly to publicly admit how one approaches a certain user when one is scum and then turn around and apply that exact same strategy in another game soon after, because obviously it's going to be fresh in said user's mind.

Those posts were pretty much what I meant. I agree it is weird to use that strategy on me again, however fact is he is doing it, and I don't see why he would question me on something he knows I do as town. He mentioned that only in the scum PT, so it did not become public until the game was over.

Apart from Bork and possibly Thug I don't have other suspects. I have seen Gaiden mentioned often, and I would not mind his lynch either, I don't remember him doing anything.

Between the game state, your neighborhood composition and the voluntary aspects of it, and my own recent experience playing with you, I feel pretty good about you being town.

You'll just have to deal with that until I have some mid-game freakout, I guess.

Ok.

I still feel that using "how I read someone", which is extremely contextual to your depth and breadth of personal experience with the player as a yardstick for assessing how someone else with entirely different depth and breadth of personal experience reads that same person can be pretty error-prone.

I tend to use myself as a yardstick for measuring other players reactions, too, especially in the absense of meta experience. As time goes on, I find my mental footnotes and caveats are more wordy than the reads themselves.
