Wandering the Nobles' district

History

After the Briaf invasion, the Mercantile district attracted many traders and businessman that wanted to increase their fortune. The ones that managed to do so didn’t settle for a one story building which is also a place of business, so they moved east, to a place that was then uninhabited, and started building their new home.

The Nobles’ district developed rather quickly. The traders that moved there encouraged more Noblemen from other Briaf territories to move there as well. Diplomats, artists, upper class mages and even well known thieves came to see the developing town, and stayed because of the developing Nobles’ district.

The Nobles’ district is populated mostly by humans, elves and dwarves. Silth and Aerin are used only as bodyguards and vendors in the marketplace, some of them fight in the Gladiator’s Arena , but there are some Aerin noblemen that came from outside Briaf territories. For example, in the recent years a new order of Aerin healers, that calles themselves Chikapakawa, arrived to Amstaad in order to expend their order. They decided to stay in the nobles’ district because this is where they were most welcome, and because of the great arena.

Layout and Architecture

Over the years, every nobleman that came to the district built his own house. There is no house that is similar to the other. But there is one thing that all the houses there have in common, they’re all mansions. Every nobleman built his own mansion for his own needs. Some built big houses with no yard for large parties and such, while others built smaller houses but with big yard to put their business in.

Several years after the first houses were built, some wizards decided to work with the blacksmiths and fletchers and some of them opened up shops which sells very high quality merchandise. These shops are very large shops which are mostly 2 stories high. These stores are located in the north of the nobles’ district, near the docks.
Over the years those merchants and wizards established “The Meeting Place” (or TMP).The TMP is located between the marketplace and the stores. It is the largest building in the nobles’ district, except for the gladiators arena.

The road from the old city continues directly to the center of the city where the great marketplace lies. In the center of the marketplace there is a very big stage on which bards and other performers can play throughout the day. If you’ll go south from the marketplace you’ll find a huge arena in which gladiators fight. This is the main entertainment for the nobles.

And lastly, The Chikapakawa temple. The Chikapakawa order built a temple just west of the gladiators arena. They sell their healing potions and give medical treatment in the temple. The temple is built in a very bizarre way. It is a one story round building. Outside the building there is a yard. The pathway goes through the yard to the entrance.

The Gladiators Arena

This is not an ordinary Gladiators Arena where slave merchants come to sell their slaves to fight. This is a distinguished place where great warriors from all Amstaad come to fight in. Most of the year there are minor fight on which the nobles bet, but twice a year there is a tournament to which fighters from all over the world come, and fight. The current champion of the arena is the great silth warrior, Ror Kai, who is also TMP chairman’s bodyguard.
The fights in the arena are not until death, but until your opponent can’t fight anymore.

The bards stage

The heart of the nobles’ district. It was built as a monument for the first nobleman that built his house in the district. If you want to announce anything in the nobles’ district this is the place to do it. The stage is located in the center of the marketplace so usually there are a lot of people around it, and you can just pay the guard and get on the stage and say what you have to say.

The Chikapakawa temple

The temple was built by the Chikapakawans who came to the nobles’ district in order to expend their order. The Chikapakawans are masters at anything that has to do with healing. The make their own healing potions and sell them in the temple. They also provide medical treatment, with pay of course, to anyone who needs it, that’s why the Chikapakawans decided to build the temple very close to the arena. The Chikapakawans also train anyone who wants to join the order in the arts of healing and alchemy.

“The Meeting Place”

It is a place where each wizard or craftsman come if they want to start a business. Each of them leave their name and skills, and that way it is easier for others who want to start a business to find someone to do it with. TMP registers every store that opens through it and transfer the lists to the Merchants Guild in the Mercantile district. TMP is subjugated entirely to the merchants guild and the craftsman guild.

The Brother’s house

This house was built by 3 men, a dwarf, an elf and a human. This men are former mercenaries in the Briaf army. It is rumored that they call themselves “The Brothers” because they have made a blood oath with each other, and if one of them will die, the other 2 will join him. Nowadays, they run a successful dojo in the nobles’ district (It is located right beside the house), and once a year they compete in the arena in the teams tournament. They are the teams champions for 3 years in a row.

In Italian a beautiful lady; in English a deadly poison. A striking example of the essential identity of the two tongues.

Looks cool so far. I'm extending the same editing offer I gave Kerplunk to you. There's no issues with content, just a bit of grammatical tweaking I can see.

One idea would be to add in some selected Noble families' houses. This is the nobility, so there might be some of them living in the area who would be important enough that everyone knew where they lived. One thing to check with Dourgrim would be where the City government (mayor? king?) lives -- I think it's more likely to be in your area than the Civil District. If it is, it would have to be an entry.
