Notice how we are the only one you been bragging about catching (yet not lynching) to satisfy your ego. You just end up being annoying and that's why you are getting a negative response out of us and no other townie is. You can live in your world of make believe then.- Extrapolated Eagle

I genuinely thought I'd seen some town-PR crumbs (although I don't remember all of them now) and I wanted to create some mist for them. Sometimes I decide pre-game that I'll kamikaze attack the scums, which has two advantages. Here, none of them worked. Elyse simply out-played me. ^_^
It is, or at least, playing scummy intentionally is a very bad play.
However, I don't think anyone expects me to agree with the "Lynch All Liars" doctrine. ^_^
↑ Garmr wrote:So my tips to get people to believe.
-address peoples points against you instantly and try not to dance around them. (you kinda danced around mine)
-Try to avoid arguing terminology
-eliminate as much possible town reasoning of why they could do it as possible.
-avoid making yourself looking scummy on purpose then using that to try and convince others that the people who jumped onto you were scum. Slayers is bad.
-Try not to be perceived as crazy by offering solid logic and possible reasoning as to why this person did that.
That's a good list. I might add these:
– build logical cases, or if you can't find logical cornerstones, admit that you have a gut-read. Others might find the missing things for the case. Even a half-baked case can be pumped-up by another townie.
– Admit your mistakes. If you're fudging around them, that looks much scummier than to say "sorry, misread it", "don't remember", "my logic was wrong", etc.
– Change your reads, not the facts. If a scumread does something blatantly town-ish, question your reads instead of "twisting" everything to confirm you.
– And, obviously, the most Aneninen-ish piece of advice: never be afraid of dying for your team! ^_^
And Eagle, sometimes "less content is more". Shorter posts are much more easier to read and comprehend. (Actually I'm coping with the same problem all the time.)
There's no such thing as perfect gameplay. ^_^
The scum team may have made mistakes, but they were good enough for beating us.
Lol, Elyse is fun to play with. But I sweeeeeeeeeeeeear I'll catch her once! ^_^
________
And my golden rule (*preach, preach*): Sometimes you kick aß, sometimes your aß gets kicked. That's Mafia. But once the game is over, it's over; what I really hate is people throwing pigeon poop at each other at post-game. (The latest part was not for this post-game, that was a general thing.)R.I.P. Can we not just all get along? Ego boosting should be done during the game, not this needless posturing."i have the sickest grossest feeling that even if it's my lynch today, my townflip still won't lead to a tso lynch, and then he'll find some bullshit way to reason either shooting or lynching gm tomorrow because if there's anyone who can strongarm a mislynch despite his reads or cases being proved wrong time and again it's tso"-Marquis- T S O

Though I don't really know how you expected Elyse and Garmr to react to you basically calling them shit, Eagle."i have the sickest grossest feeling that even if it's my lynch today, my townflip still won't lead to a tso lynch, and then he'll find some bullshit way to reason either shooting or lynching gm tomorrow because if there's anyone who can strongarm a mislynch despite his reads or cases being proved wrong time and again it's tso"-Marquis- T S O

Elyse - big step up from YCBA III and those good old d3 lynches."i have the sickest grossest feeling that even if it's my lynch today, my townflip still won't lead to a tso lynch, and then he'll find some bullshit way to reason either shooting or lynching gm tomorrow because if there's anyone who can strongarm a mislynch despite his reads or cases being proved wrong time and again it's tso"-Marquis- Aneninen

Also, Eagle, a scum is caught when they flip. It's not enough to find a scum, you also have to build up a case strong enough to attract enough votes.
And all of us are familiar with that 'I knew it!' feeling. And all of us have been lynched a couple of times instead of our scumreads.R.I.P. Stephen Hawking- PeregrineV

Split milk. I think I get you are saying you "caught" Garmr and Elyse, but through either the luck of the gods, poor play on your teammates part, and/or brilliant play on their part, they escaped your net.
Learn what went wrong in general and fix it for next time.

@PV that was what I was trying to get at before people's egos got in the way and they started misreading and then other people thought THEY knew what I was saying and more people jumped onto things I was saying.
@aneninen it's not "I knew it" if you say "they're scum" and then push their lynch the whole game. That feeling is for when you point out they're scummy at one point in the game, and that isn't caught, you're right, because everyone is suspicious of everyone at one point. This is different. But that's not what I'm trying to get at anyways. What I was originally TRYING to do was figure out what went wrong and fix the not being able to get scum that was obvious to me lynched by making it obvious to everyone else.
And if a man is arrested and sent to jail but gets out because the people holding him dies, he's still caught. Hence caught is the right word here.
Regardless this seems to have become a whole lot more about making sure people's feelings are intact and that certain people make sure that they didn't actually do scummy things because they were scum, it was because they had other reasons in mind and for this reason they weren't actually called out for doing scummy things. And since this has gotten there I'm not talking about it anymore. I was hoping one of you could help me instead of attacking me but it's apparent y'all are more about playing than learning or getting better"@EE

In regards to the bussing, it happens. It's annoying being on the receiving end of it (I know) but its a very good scum tactic to distance themselves when a flip occurs
Anyway, while I haven't fully decided the theme of the next YCBA it will as said be puzzle based.
Each night, after the lynch flip a puzzle will be posted. They will be grid based mathematical or word based puzzles. The first 3 to PM me the right answer(s) will go forward to the day phase puzzle, and whoever is the first of the 3 to PM me the correct answer(s) will either get a free night action or be lynch/kill proof for one day/night. These will be randomly determined using the random generator that is used to randomize the mafia roles.
Again in the interest of fairness, if it will lead to an end game situation, the lynch proof and kill proof as well as selected random roles will not be used. IF the person already has a power role, they may be asked to choose between their own power, or the randomly assigned one (providing it is a night action given)
What do you think of this??
To make this 100% fair, scum will not be allowed to help each other with the puzzles. It has to be a 100% solo effort.- TheWayItEnds

I trust you to make sure it doesn't affect the game adversely, Jason."i have the sickest grossest feeling that even if it's my lynch today, my townflip still won't lead to a tso lynch, and then he'll find some bullshit way to reason either shooting or lynching gm tomorrow because if there's anyone who can strongarm a mislynch despite his reads or cases being proved wrong time and again it's tso"-Marquis- jasonT1981

Zach and I will be working on the setup. I have started an early draft.. however, if you ever saw my original drafts, so much gets changed lol. Zach is very good in working out numbers of mislynches, and calculating swing effects such as vig etc.
Balance is something I am going to be very focused on in the setup as there is a lot of potential swing involved. I want the puzzle rewards more to be an incentive to have people who normally don't do anything in the night more involved in things and a bit of fun / friendly competition rather than something that can drastically change the game.- Garmr

My tip would be less investigative roles like cop and hider because those are boring and nothing to op like sensor.- T S O

You just say that because you're always scum in YCBA, Garmr. For someone like me, who has always rolled town, they'reintegralto the set-up. We need more of them. Much more. Give everyone a Cop."i have the sickest grossest feeling that even if it's my lynch today, my townflip still won't lead to a tso lynch, and then he'll find some bullshit way to reason either shooting or lynching gm tomorrow because if there's anyone who can strongarm a mislynch despite his reads or cases being proved wrong time and again it's tso"-Marquis- Aneninen
