On topic, I find it hilarious when people I know say that you're not actually "good" at the game until some seemingly arbitrary milestone. I had a guy tell me I'm not good in his eyes because I'm not plat 3+ - when I hit plat 1, he was like "yeah you're good man." I did not magically improve by leaps and bounds. I was just climbing. And I say it a lot, but...

"I'd like to think the top 3% of players is only slightly above average, yes."

Because that makes sense.

I don't find it hilarious, I just kind of hate it. I hate this relentless culture of negativity that surrounds league (and dota and basically all competitive gaming). I think it is deeply toxic and causes people to behave in very silly ways. It drives ladder anxiety and flaming in games. It makes the community fundamentally unwelcoming to new players. It makes people push themselves to attain the totally unattainable - what are you actually playing league for? Do you really think you'll ever be able to do this professionally, or anything approaching that level? It's like the advice that people give to not play Vayne or whoever because she's too hard and you'll never be able to improve if you're too focused on playing a character. God damn, if you find her fun, just go ahead and play her.

Besides, as Rayfrost said, what do you even mean by good at that point? It's clearly not a relative thing, because that kind of relative criteria is absurd - how can you be above average but not good? What sort of weird verbal semantics is that? It's clearly not some kind of objective skill criteria thing either, because the goalposts move every year, as the community as a whole continue to improve every year. So I don't even know what people are trying to convey when they say someone is "good" or "bad" in this context. It's not even something to do with the avoidance of egregiously obvious gut-clenchingly silly-looking plays, because those happen even at pro level. (This is also an indication that those kinds of plays are rarely as stupid as you think they are, incidentally.)

But whatever, idk, I guess everyone below some totally arbitrary threshold is stupid awful bronzie feeder moron clownfiestas.

It's hextech crafting. The crate has a skin shard and a ward shard, plus enough essence to craft one of them. It's a free skin, and I think it's for a champion you own. I got Special Forces GP (aw yeah!) and I only own have him and Zyra on this account.
