Ranger. I don't think that Snarky's play before the gladiation was that bad? And I actually agree that roles shouldn't be the basis for lynching; for all we know, Cakes deliberately put in two town gladiators to make setup spec like this, what would normally determine scum, impossible/unhelpful.

I've been typing out a post to Clumsy about how his theory is based on a bogus assumption.
I was trying to come up with a cute breadcrumb to Ranger's mention of a vig.
But I feel like any attempt for me to slow dance this would probably lead to more confusion than clarity.
So I'll just come out and say it.

-Doctor saved maf kill
-Roleblocker/Jailkeeper

-TTH is scum buddies with Ranger/Snarky and covering up for them. More likely Ranger.
-Maf also targeted Kuroi
-Maf no killed.

Approximate rough order in which I find them believable.

I don't think that's something to be sorry about. Be it the shooting or the claiming. I'd have done the same in your shoes, and if Kuroi's honest, he probably would say he'd have shot himself, too. There were two gladiator claims. SnarkySnowman's power was confirmed. His claim was more sketchy. We were going to lynch one of them today, and very easily may have lynched the other the day after, for better or for worse.

As for the claiming...that tells us, short of scum having legitimately shot Kuroi (in which case...lol?),

1. TellTaleHeart is confirmed town.
2. We have a town role, be it offensively or defensively, that stopped a kill.
3. In the case of {doctor, Jailkeeper, roleblocker}, I'd claim your target.
4. Doctor? If it's not TellTaleHeart, that player would be the scum's nightkill and therefore confirmed town. (If it was, stay silent.)
5. Roleblocker? Congratulations, you blocked scum. Out it for a free scum lynch.
6. Jailkeeper? Claim so we can use judgement on whether it was a block or kill.
7. If the stopped kill was not caused by one of the above three, stay silent.

I agree with this on most points, but I do not think that this makes Tell Tale Heart proven town. Like I said before, she could be scum covering up for somebody else that is under suspicion today. No most likely that person would be you, so I can understand why you would have checked it is, but it could also be snarky to an extent. She is in no way confirmed town because there is no way to check against that.

Of course, town would not lie about this. But, objectively, do you think that this would be a valid scum play?

I don't think scum sacrifice their nightkill on a player heavily scumread, knowing there will only be one nightkill, in order to claim it was a vig, while also leaving all other players alive, including those who may have roles that can nail them, e.g. cop. There's a

lot

of risk involved.

I agree that I think our best course of action would be to find out who protected or stopped the night kill. People that can should claim their targets. I am a VT and had no Night action. Mass claim?

Personally this call for mass-claim has all the hallmarks of desperate scum and I want no part of it. Lilith and Clumsy should absolutely not claim unless, as pointed out earlier, they have a guaranteed Town clear on a player not Telltale (especially one maybe under fire) or a block on someone which is tantamount to a guilty.

I’ve been following along as best I can when away and I’ve not moved from my read that Ranger is scum at least on one earth. And this Earth may well be it.

Look at 1107 and then read 1115. Do those look like posts made fairly close together and from a Town perspective? I absolutely don’t think so. She lays out a detailed course of action about how to be handle the possibility of additional cleared Town players and whether the hypothetical Town protective role should claim or not.

Then Java says “Massclaim?” and Ranger says “sure, but only on this Earth”.

That does not follow at all if she is supposedly Town and has assessed the best course of action. But scum posturing for Town cred (look how Townie I am … see I made this long post on the logical way to handled Telltale’s claim) but immediately abandoning the position to mass-claim which is a bad, bad idea.

I'm not sure if I agree with that. It wiped the VC slate clean and he sure did cut it close to deadline.

And I disagree whole-heartedly with your assessment. Snarky was under fire for a long period before he was counter-claimed by Kuroi. The second Ranger replaced in he could have gladiated Lilith knowing he’d have Ranger’s strong support in arm-twisting a Lillth lynch. Instead he waited on the burner until he had a solid reason to use the skill.
