Explain to me why you think this is TSQ!scum rather than just TSQ being TSQ?

I'll cast a VOTE: Nina for now. I dislike the TSQ wagon. It feels off to me. Of the people on it, I particularly take issue with Nina because of her 106. I generally find cute-story-posting like that to be a scumtell, because it allows you to mask your tone very well. This section gives me pause as well.

She thinks Spiffeh had a scumpartner vote him, but Spiffeh isn't on her reads list as Scum? This is a fabricated reads list. To me, it seems to me the reason she's talking about Spiffeh's scumpartners is because she already knows Spiffeh is Scum. If we flip Nina now and she flips red, I think it's a 2-for-1 on her and Spiffeh.

I agree that it's an awfully convenient way to justify a TSQ vote/speedwagon and general lack of content, which I dislike, especially since hiplop should know how likely it is that the color flip is accurate on D1, so it does earn minor scumpoints. My only issue is that if you assume town!hiplop, then his actions all make sense from the PoV of someone who thinks it's all useless. In short, I can see that coming from either town!hiplop or scum!hiplop, with Scum being a little more likely.

I'm caught up.. I'm having a really hard time getting into this game.

I don't understand why we'd flip pie? I have Pie as my top town read right now, I'd rather lynch somebody like TSQ. Like Bella, I have a hard time not scumreading certain personalities, and I naturally want to scum read him. Nina I feel like I'd rather lynch than flip tbh.
I could flip spiffeh too I think.

If we're going to assume that the flip's accurate, I'd much rather have confscum that we can lynch d1 than conftown who will probably just die in the night. If Pie's a strong town player, why do you want an early death for them?

my issue is less about the mechanics confusion and more about the fact that, even outside of the mechanics confusion, he had literally no reads whatsoever. I could potentially see the flip confusion coming from him as town and I kinda wish he didn't replace out cos I wanted to see what he would do after I straight-up prompted him to not think about the flip for the time being and give me scum reads. but I don't see a town player going "I'm too tilted because of this flip mechanic, so I don't have any idea about scum reads" which is what he basically did. what I would expect a town player to do is something like "I'm tilted because of this flip mechanic, so I'm mostly just going to ignore it and move on".

even if you don't understand how to use the flip, then at best figuring out who to flip and figuring out who the scum are are two separate, independent events - not knowing who specifically to flip isn't a reason for not doing anything at all to look for scum in general

while this makes me happy (<3), I've spent quite a while talking about why I think it's better to try and flip scum reads like a standard lynch. why do you disagree?

also, another point about this is that I think I'm usually fairly transparently town when I'm town, so using it to flip me would just be a waste. you (and other people) might have a different opinion than myself on this but I expect it would be more optimal to flip someone else if we're attempting to flip town players

I didn't have any scum reads on my first read through either, tbh. There's not been a lot that's super overtly scummy - I only caught the bit with Nina on reading her ISO after the TSQ-wagon

@ranger, pie: I think I agree with ranger (or ranger agrees with me ) that flipping town could be useful, not only for confirming reads but also for a bit of direction. Like...if anti was in the game id want him flipped. It also leaves scum less wiggle room around mislynches. We don't have long to use it either way!
