Try to forget where the divide between E1 and E2 is. Instead, read his tone, read his content, read everything he's doing in his posting. Are you doing that?

I can, because the difference between his play on Earth 1 and Earth 2 is the difference between night and day.

To summarize: MagnaofIllusion as town can be defined as "A-HA! GOTCHA!" This was his play on Earth-2. This was his play in both town games he's played in since his return to the site.
MagnaofIllusion as scum is methodical. His catch-up this game on Earth-1 was a

dead-ringer

for his scumgames. It is objective, it has that distance between himself and what he's saying, and he uses that distance to string together a bunch of posts that

look

good but don't actually accomplish anything.

the tell I have for MagnaofIllusion is not specific to him as a player; it's specific to his playstyle which a few other players have. My go-to example is Red Coyote. It's vaguely similar to Titus's playstyle, but with a slightly different overall approach. If MagnaofIllusion were scum, his play would resemble what Red Coyote did in Twin Peaks. His play here is nothing like that. There are multiple things which show it. Tonality, what he's focusing on, the type of arguments he is making, all of these are different between that style of play as town and as scum and it only took seeing it once for me to instantly recognize it.

It's not a "these factors are present in a town game" tell, so much as a "these factors are absent in a town game" tell. Xisiqomelir actually covered this slightly: 561's section on him. The abrasiveness is present from someone with his playstyle more as scum; the enthusiasm and particular angle of attack is present from someone with his playstyle more as town. Instead of focusing on nitpicky details, instead of relying on technicalities, instead of being stubborn, instead of lacking a firm base, he is making logical conclusions and following through with that town eagerness.

This is Red Coyote's iso as scum. I realized MagnaofIllusion is not Red Coyote, but his playstyle is similar, so if he were scum I would expect to see those same markers I used to nail Red Coyote. I'm not seeing them this game, ergo, he's town.

His play here is completely and entirely different. I'm a bit busy so I can't show the highlights at this very moment.
But...MagnaofIllusion that game displayed the same play as Red Coyote.
MagnaofIllusion this game is displaying none of those same behaviors.

My MagnaofIllusion meta is incredibly consistent

Will read in a sec, but will quickly point out: this game was the real reason, from the start, I townread MagnaofIllusion this game. In THAT game, he was playing like Red Coyote. The distance from his reads was identical; the only difference between him and Red Coyote was he chose to be emotional with abrasiveness rather than be emotional with AtE. I had him instantly pegged that game as being like Red Coyote as scum (ergo, scum; he was, albeit a serial killer), and his play here is not the same at all.

And if you need a source other than me from that game...

I've already talked about Magna. This just hasn't felt like his scum game. Ranger was right about magna and him having that aha feeling. That fits in more like his town game.

And they are, apparently, experts on MagnaofIllusion. So, bluntly. He's town on Earth2 no matter how much you don't like it.
He's scum on this Earth.

Since all I see is Ranger’s continued “meta” read which is and has continued to laughable I’m putting an end to this right now.

I’m Green Lantern, Superhero Doctor. I sent my protect on Telltale last night once my alignment is confirmed you know for absolute certainty any attempt to claim Town Jailkeeper is from scum. Town Jailkeeper makes no sense in a setup with a full Doctor but makes perfect sense as a scum role or as a scum Roleblocker fake-claim.

No, it was a valid argument. I already acknowledged I was scum that game. Being scum does not mean every word I say is a lie; being scum does not mean every read I give is without basis. The argument was valid that game and would have been my read as town, and it remains a valid argument this game.

Imperium was in fact agreeing you were playing a town game, but they were also explicitly agreeing with the meta as valid; the quote is in no way out of context. Plus, the point stands: you were town that game with the "a-HA!" mindset, which fits your Earth-2 play; your play on this Earth is...not the same as it was that game.

Also, would like to point out: it is very likely that scum killed TellTaleHeart because she was a role on Earth-2. I'll check her Earth-1 reads just to be sure, but I can't see much other motivation for that kill.

Let’s have a look at Day 1 ISOs of Clumsy and Lane’s interactions for kicks and grins –

76 - Early on we see Clumsy defending Lane from Kuroi’s early scum read on him.

92 – I read the first part of this post as important in that it serves a couple of purposes …

This all felt over the top for this early in day 1. Originally I felt like this was TvS, but the suggestion of Scum Theater is looking applicable too. Lane, Kuroi, do you guys have a history of getting under the other's skin? Where did this come from so suddenly? I can understand a little frustration, but this seems over the top for me.

1. It opens the door of linking Kuroi and Lane should Lane flip scum.
2. It also looks to defuse the situation (“Do you have a history of getting under the other’s skin?”).

He doesn’t give reasons for suspecting Lane at all other than to piggyback on an earlier Telltale “Scum Theatre” comment but goes out of his way to give an out to Lane to extricate himself from the early pressure with possible meta. Lane immediately refuses the out … which if scum have Daytalk probably means it isn’t partner indicative. I reviewed the OP and don’t see indications whether scum Daytalk is enabled.

180 – This is an interesting post to look at for future purposes. Clumsy says he’d scum read Lane. Need to see Clumsy ever moves towards voting or scum-hunting Lane after this post.

184 – Distancing? He’s now saying he thinks Lane is scum regardless of whether Kuroi is yet has his vote on his other suspect Xk. Lilith was “middle ground”. Yet he moves his vote at 186 to Lilith simply for pressure. These posts and voting pattern were one of the posts that struck me as Clumsy scum Day.

Notice that Lane really has little interaction with Clumsy at all to this point. And Clumsy’s interactions with Lane seem to consist of suspicion that is never followed up on with scum-hunting or a vote.

287 – So Clumsy actually moves his vote to Lane here after Lane’s “See you on Earth2 Kuroi” post that people said were a slip. Let’s see how this pressure remains. Originally I thought Lane’s post was NAI. However this might be an example of a scum player who sees his partner make a slip and jumps onto him with more verve than is natural.

290 and 292 – Lane finally mentions that Clumsy isn’t a Town read.

453 and 455 – Backing each other up on what is LAMIST style posting. Of course we don’t want premature claiming of roles. But they specifically go out of their way to reinforce that the other is taking this Town stance. Which is odd because Lane hasn’t mentioned Clumsy since 290 / 292 saying Clumsy wasn’t a Town read. No mention of why that might have changed.

471 – More of Clumsy saying “I don’t like Lane” while agreeing with Telltale’s scum pool of Soren / Snarky / Java.

529 – Lane asks Clumsy to explain the case on him. Clumsy never addresses this and Lane never follows up.

So we get a lot of weak suspicion between the slots with not significant attempts to actually scum-hunt the other slot. Clumsy dropped his vote on Lane when kuroi was under pressure but never did anything to further the process of actually getting a lynch on him.

Make solid sense as partners doing a job of soft distancing which makes sense in a 9 player set-up. Hard bussing is likely suicide.

Also it is informative to look at Clumsy's site-wide posts. See how many of them have been made since I claimed. Yet no posts in this thread. Very much looks like scum who are hoping I get hammered before they are forced to post again and acknowledge my claim.
