Well it is true that since I made the sig scum has started using it more and town less.

I will also say that they are still a lot of times when frustrated town under pressure is called AtE'ing and flailing scum.

I guess the balance depends on how much you value day talk. In a game with a fairly high proportion of PRs, I think it can be pretty powerful. I think doc + vig vs. goons without daytalk is probably roughly balanced, but then I don't think a vig is on average that strong a PR.

this was a good game to watch. good play all around (i'm used to seeing normals end up being hellacious train wrecks). the only criticism i have on that front is that postie should have claimed once she got to l-1

b/c considering that the doc couldn't protect the vig once he was outed, i'd say this game is close to balanced if not very, very mildly scumsided.

I think this game was really balanced honestly and normally I think something is leaning someway.

My only criticism would be neighbors but that isn't balance its more like "I am sick of neighbors" they annoy me so much.

i guess it also has the effect of making the doc's claim more believable (i know if someone claimed that i wouldn't lynch it as a player)
so it pulls the doc closer to IC in terms of claim credibility

For what it's worth, my opinion about AtE is "it doesn't say anything about your alignment, but it

does

invalidate your argument". Or in other words, it's a wrongtell rather than a scumtell/towntell.

For what it's worth, AtE seems to be a very persuasive technique when aimed at people who aren't aware of it, even though logically it shouldn't be; presumably this is some sort of inherent weakness in the human mind. Awareness of the technique here on Mafiascum is very high, though, so it doesn't work so well in-game.

I would've liked to see how I did because reading along I totally thought TTH was scum despite thinking it was duppin while I was still in the game. Obviously it's different when you're playing vs a spectator and TTH is pretty darn convincing.

Great job TTH and good job serra. It's really tough replacing in so late and having to make the endgame decision like that. duppin you played LyLo well and had me convinced you were town...although I would have lynched you over BNL lmao.

Well played TTH, you had me fooled! Serra no hard feelings at all about getting LYLO wrong, I was so glad I wasn't in your shoes. I guess the fact that I could see myself alternatively townreading BNL and Wingback during D2 should have made me do a full reassess, instead of just assuming I must be wrong about one of them.

@Elyse - hahaha wow that's annoying. I enjoyed the absurdity of him (being a newbie) sarcastically insulting your play but it sucks that he was actually serious about it and ruined your game as a result. Thanks for respecting the game enough to let the mods know

also I definitely thought this game was balanced but I was super relieved to see that it was actually confirmed 7:2. I think it would have been much tougher for me (and town as a result) if we didn't have that piece of information, as I thought my role was basically designed around being a pretender SK.

for me mainly it was cause you were townreading my scumread in such a way that I figured either you were partners or you were WKing a scummy-looking town slot. Also I was TRing BNL/TTH and I knew I was town so I couldn't really vibe with any of your scumreads.

I might have been more open-minded if I wasn't sitting on a vig shot, I was fairly confident I would shoot Ari regardless of your flip so the choice of either wagon didn't matter too much to me by the end of the day.
