Just thinking outside the box here, and I don't know if you can do this or not, but I suppose you could try and PM the mod just as the game starts and tell them you will take a spot as replacement??? Just a weird suggestion, you will have to run this by Mina.

Yes, before you've been placed into a game, you can /out from the queue. In fact, that's much better than being placed in a game and then leaving, as it's less disruptive for everyone.

Hello, all! New here, but not new to mafia (about a dozen games experience on another forum + at parties.)

The other forum I particpate in has generally smaller games (biggest has been 16 but are usually 11-14), and so I'm coming here to experience a bigger game and play with some new people. I can see myself becoming a regular player here and eventually moderator (I desire to eventually host a game that I've written in Theme Park (not based on anything, but with some mechanic changes that I think qualify it for that thread.)

I think it makes sense to go through the motions of starting from "new player" here, yes?
