Frankly I can't agree that this is good for Town in any way. Especially the bolded. You've been around long enough to know that the first players to go in Large games are competent Town. Your proposal effectively says "Yeh, I don't really want to try to solve the game yet. Let's give scum free reign to kill of the players who might have a clue early" and I don't for a second think Town Nacho would believe this is smart.

This is both similar and different from Imperium's play in Machina (and I don't mean exactly like it. I mean there are general similarities). That's mostly why I'm hesitent to completely townread Imperium.

PEdit: I hope Firebringer has a super powerful, ultra swingy role again. I mean, he'll likely screw town over with it, but it's still hilarious to watch him struggle. He did it in Machina and UNI MUM (and he commited suicide with his Lucid Dreamer role in UNI MUM)

It's been maybe a year since I played with the imp hydra.
The last game I played with imp, they were active, trying to figure players pit, asking question, extra.
They came in with strange reads and very little interaction just to push mj and now Waco.

I have seen them play the peaemaker a lot recently, as both alignments.
But I've also seen thm as town really being a little .. standoffish, I guess.
I'll try and get my other half to ISO them. They get a better read than I do.

In fact it makes me feel that the Waco case you presented earlier is just window dressing for a policy lynch on your part.

Equating "I don't mind thinning out the herd early" with "Nacho is pushing a policy lynch" is completely misunderstanding my mindset; Day 1 is a Day when I would rather lynch someone who is underwhelming and scummy as opposed to someone that's shown an emotional investment and has a chance to turn their slot into something other than a mislynch. I am more willing to lynch players who are underwhelming and scummy than I am willing to lynch players who are fairly active and questionable; the first players to go in a Large game are competent town, but terrible mislynches happen early game (when there's not enough information to work with) or late game (when the competent players are dead).

It's less about "giving scum free reign and lynching a player because of who they are" and more about minimizing risks and giving people who are demonstrating emotional investment a little more space which they very much deserve.
