307. Barney (PrivateI) - Season Finale

I feel as though experiencing the joy of dying together would be more than I could handle.

Okay, so this is actually a really hard cut for me. I've kinda been defending him as a character for a long while now because I just absolutely adore him so. Probably my favourite first boot next to Tingle. But, I can't justify him ranking much higher than this. So let me tell you about the joy and terror that was Barney. First you need to know that before the game even started, Monty informed me that he had spent the last week doing research to be in character. That's right. He had been watching Barney and listening to Barney music so as to make sure he would have the right kind of persona going into this. And oh, did he deliver. For such a short time in the game, and with so little said, he was magical. Season Finale had a Shoutbox instead of a GD forum, and during the first day of the game, Barney ran a trivia game which everyone was allowed to participate in, including the mods. Barney promised that whomever won the trivia game would gain an advantage in the F4 challenge of the game. Cosima, one of the mods, did win. What Barney didn't know was that there was a flavour mechanic where Cosima would "join" the players in playing the F4 challenge as a temporary player. Unfortunately, due to how the Shoutboxes work, most of the things Barney has ever said are lost. Just due to being Barney, he was slightly unsettling and boy did he utilize that. There's a PM exchange in his confessional with Nappa that is just kind of hysterical. It's a real shame that he wasn't able to help out nearly so much with the first challenge, because there were so many more great things in store with this character and we could have had a much more interesting game.

Nope, not just that. CC doesn't want to be a ranker anymore, so as he's already in the chat and was part of it originally, Xalxe's been offered the spot, if he says no, then someone who has preferably played/spectated/modded a majority of these games is welcome to take his spot.
