I've recently been scum-buddies with iron and played with town!iron in another game
and so far this looks like the former

Sure. Basically, I knew you were new to this site and I assumed you'd be newer to the game as well. The conversation with Transcend just makes me think newbtown but then I realized you just don't know that he always plays like this. Once you came to accept that you started doing things that actually made sense as a town player. I'll mark that point where you change within the quotes.

i've encountered players that play like transcend, but honestly i'd need to read a town game and a scum game by him to hope to have a strong opinion on that slot at this point

my issue with him isn;t that i don't know his playstyle, it's that his playstyle is easily the type that looks similar at this point as either alignment, so i can't stick with a read on him.

certainly pressuring him and FoSing him is better than just leaving him alone at that point? why would i not want to interact with him there?

Yeah drone, when I was typing my mini-analysis on Ironstove I was aware it sounded almost exactly like my analysis with drealmerz. The difference is that dreal actually adds to the game, while stove is just lurking around in the background. Dreal still reads suspicious to me. I don't understand why he's tunneling on LUV so much.
