Calling dibs on/gauging interest for
Mind Screw Mafia
- because it sounds better than and is more appropriate for a title than Mind Fuck Mafia - for use after my Mini Normal.

The game is intended to include references to many, many shows/movies/etc. that do a good job of fucking with your mind. Why are you here? What the frak is going on? Good question. Maybe you'll gain some understanding as the game goes on.

I've got a number of role/character ideas (some unique), but I haven't gotten to balancing/final role decisions yet.

I had a friend running an alien game. He had one master alien who could do one of the following things during the night:
At night you can choose to infect a player. Target infected player and give them a choice to join you are die. Kill target player.
Those were pretty much the 3 choices.
The regular aliens basically got to chose to kill target player at night.
He also had an MIB agent to help take down the alien. It was pretty fun. Alien's won the first game. Town won the second. He is still working on ways to balance the town/alien/ mafia. Yes it was alien vs. town. vs mafia. Like I said fun, but crazy.
Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.

Would there be any interest for a
Magic: The Gathering upick
? You choose your card and you would get a unique ability based on the card. Players would have a certain number of votes required to lynch them based on their card's defence, a number of votes their vote counts for based on attack, and an ability reflected by any of their card's abilities. People could also choose an instant, sorcery, enchantment, etc. and would have their voting/votes needed to lynch be low but their ability be high.

If done right, do you think this would work? I would make this with the collaboration of another mod to ensure balance.

Hrm. Collectable Card Game Mafia. Some would be well-known (Magic, Star Trek, Yu-gi-Oh), others not-so-well-known (Netrunner, Shadowfist, Ultimate Combat), but someone's killing off decks of cards... the only option left is to tear apart the other decks looking for the killer before you, too, become so much shredded cardboard.

Battlestar Galactica
Mafia? It could be a mini or large game, maybe depending on interest, but the flavour certainly leaves scope for a diverse setup. I'm claiming it now, because it's one theme I'd really be into, and I'd be gutted if someone else got to it first. That said, if anyone ever felt like doing it too, I'm willing to consider co-modding.

I've been playing around with the idea of
CCTV Mafia
, set in a hotel.

The Day phase runs as normal, but at the start of each day, the CCTV footage of the corridors is played. In game terms, a summary of who visited who's room the previous night is posted at the start of each day.

Of course, there would be factors which would effect the CCTV footage, but those are being kept secret!

Thoughts?

Read Orbiting's Clue Mini, among others that I can't think of right now. It had room-based mechanics that will probably be useful to examine loopholes...

I'm n00b, so I'm not really well informed on mafia and such, and I haven't read through the threads much, but has anyone made

yet? I guess that could be great, you know, survivors don't know who the scavengers are, scavengers go nightkilling for water rations, etc. Perhaps peace-keeping forces or soldiers instead of cops, you know, and can be varied with water rations, like everyone has their daily rations, and if somebody steals it, they die of thirst, and... whatever, maybe this is lame after all.

What about having 4 rooms so there is 3 players in each room so by careful deduction (or sometimes not able to due to who goes where) you can sometimes find out who went for who.

Am I just confusing people now?

I've thought of it, but not as Smalltown. If I did it, I'd probably make some tweaks so that some of the roles at least make sense, which'd kind of necessitate a closed setup.

I've encouraged Mirth to make a game for some of her ideas, once she gets the modding experience. I myself would love to run at least one game pulling roles from that thread, but I've got too many modding projects lined up as is.



But yeah, that needs to happen at some point. I wouldn't do it as smalltown either (especially considering many of the roles have alignment built in), but that's not out of the question.

I've got awhile to go before I could mod a game here, but I had a theme based idea. I called it
Serial Killer Mafia
. It would be based on horror movie characters such as Freddy, Jason, and Michael Myers and their rivals (Nancy and Jamie Lee's character). I thought about this more as serial killers obviously, but my one problem is how to not have the SK's each do a kill each night. I have a doctor and sheriff. The thought that the if the SK's target their rivals the rivals won't die. What I mean is Freddy can't kill Nancy, but Jason could. The town wins if the serial killers are dead. The SK wins if he is the last one standing.
Any thoughts or opinions would be apprieciated.
