Yea, that's kind of what I've been going for. Town with lots of info and ability to coordinate if they play their cards right. And since they have no other way to catch scum (until soloscum with JK), BG and JK to help keep that coordination alive. 1-shot BP to counterplay with the JK.

I see what Empking is saying about the amount of protectives potentially feeling bad for scum and I think that because of the setup if town gets really ahead they will stay ahead

but

I don't think that it's imbalanced. If you reduce the power of the JK/BG I'd want town to get some other power I think

Honestly I'd rather leave it as is and just call it a game where scum have trouble making predictable kills and I would be happy with that.

is the main setup, with various spoilered nerfs as possible options? I'm basically ok with it, though it's probably going to be fairly swingy on how scum use the gunsmith, since it's actually there to be claimed as necessary, but they're pretty unlikely to realize it for quite a while. 2 masons and a JK and a BG with a BP is a solid amount of town power (and power that doesn't screw with itself very much), and scum's power is largely not a direct counter, but rather there to be claimed if/as needed, with a general structure of enforcing "they can't be scum together" setup spec of GS/neapolitan.

But yeah I'm ok with this balance wise. Probably we'll either see town bitching about being screwed if scum play off their two PRs well, and scum bitching about it if they do it badly, but there's always something someone complains about.

@RC would a 1-shot Strongman allay your concerns at all?

@smith yes the spoilers were a bunch of potential tweaks if the primary wasn't something you were all happy with. If you don't like the GS interaction and think that WIFOM would potentially hurt scum more than benefit them or would just introduce an unnecessary element of setup spec into dayplay obviously that can be taken out, it was your suggestion so I have no issue with it being there or not being there according to the designs you had for the role originally (which I happened to like).

i mean it's basically introducing wifom/setup spec into the setup explicitly as a potential scum counter to town's power. If you like that kind of structure, cool, but if you think it's inelegant, we can do any number of other ideas. What really matters is what kind of game you want to run, and then we take that and work to balance it.

I think the GS is absolutely elegant and supports what I want from the setup and that's why I liked it so much when you suggested it over Maf Doc.

I am fine with replacing Neo with Watcher.
