Or maybe that's just me.
But yeah. Some players have a preference in alingment. Others don't. But it's a good idea to get a few games of each under your belt before you sign up for any games with modified mechanics. Not to mention even the normal games here are exciting if played right.

Cankles simply didn't care to try and was open about it.
Fykus was probably overgamed
Idk what whymafia was up to really
Wheme was... unimpressive. This isn't his first rodeo, and peacing out with a vote that could get quick hammered in MYLO was an appalling loss of town perspective and I'd say that in most worlds where una somehow survives, that choice rightfully gets wheme lynched before game end.
RC had an off game as well (so far the most effective town game RC has had when I've been playing was when I was scum )
Scum team played well, but it's true town never really made them do stuff that could have gotten them to screw up. Some of that's on me. More of it's on the rest of the board.
I'll try and come up with some helpful thoughts for the newbies in particular when I have time, hopefully this weekend.Showhttp://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Mhsmith0

This is literally my only game ever so I have no basis of comparison. People keep saying it's bad or low effort or whatever so I guess that means my next game will be even more fun? I'm a bit daunted by the idea of playing scum against a more challenging town though; it sounds exhausting. In post 844, mhsmith0 wrote:I will say, for what it's worth, that as scum you'll usually get more of a challenge from town. Ooo, thanks for explaining this. I noticed the slip but didn't think to think of it as a slip.In post 835, Cabd wrote:
You mentioned miles twice in two seperate types of read. It comes off as even if you didn't do it that way, like your been trying to figure out where to slot players and moved stuff around. Usually that kind of thought process doesn't come from a town mindset whose reads come from their honest thoughts. It comes from scum shaping their thoughts based on their perception of consensus. In post 829, PersephoneSidekick wrote:

The last minute vote that everybody is upset about is relatively consistent with his stated opinions. He, like me, thought the scumteam was Una/Why so he didn't care that much which one was lynched first. I think he declares and votes on reads, without explaining them; this is anti-town but NAI. The actual reads themselves are plausible reads. I see him as very very null and since I actively scumread Una, he's a much safer lynch to me.
I townread Whale and Miles and mildly scumread Miles, so Wheme loses out by a bit. If Una is cleared, then by POE Wheme is guilty with Miles and I'd be willing to vote him. But for now, I'm very worried that lynching Wheme might lose the game.
I'll make a post about Una soon after I finish a short meeting.
Anyway, gg and well played, scum. I hardtownread Persephone all game. x__xDiscourse is fleeting, but junk mail is forever.- PersephoneSidekick

Im sad. I get lynched when Im sleeping. Every time.
Also, I was gonna chase Perse hard on sunday, but it would've required good reads from RC to point out Miles to me.
I tried to give off the vibe that I was back to hunting Whale, but apparently that wasnt a good idea then. I wanted more content from Perse to analyze, and I thought it would be easier if I gave off the vibe Im looking at Whale as Whemes partner now.
I trusted that even Wheme wouldnt vote me in mylo so easily, but...ech.
I never shook the feeling that Perse was someones buddy, but she played it very good.
I tried to use the setup analyzing so mysteriously to achieve trust from RC, and Whale actually got my cred from diving into that too.
On this final day I went on a more direct mode with it, because I wanted more..anything from the scum, but didnt get it until it was too late. Perses later post wouldve been what I was waiting for, but I read it this just now.
Playstyles like Whemes will always rub me the wrong way, and will probably be a problem for my gamesolving.
I have now finished two games and got lynched in all of my games.
I think MafiaScum might not be for me. GG to all.- RadiantCowbells

I hope you'll give it another try. I watched your other game, and you replaced into a slot that was going to be nearly impossible to rehabilitate. Which was a problem for you here, too.In post 861, UnaBombaH wrote:I think MafiaScum might not be for me. GG to all.
Maybe try playing from the start of a game next time, so you're not stuck with whatever problems another player created before being replaced.
Kind of a side thought, but I've been thinking about running a game in the micro queue sometime soon that could be a good transition from the newbie game format to something just a little more challenging.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

It might be a newbie queue trend. I've seen some impatient play since I started modding and playing newbies again.
My favorite queues are the micro and the mini theme and large theme game queues, When I first started playing at MS, the theme games made me question my skills. I was regularly getting trounced. But, the players were mostly great and the mods were too. I learned to swim in the deep end of the pool.Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

Feel free to challenge yourself to a non newbie game, or take another stab at the queue, or both. Whatever you want to do is the most important thing imo.
