So far it's beginning game phase and people are just trying to get a starting foot.

And I'm suggesting we kill 5 of 17 players before the dance begins. I'd like to have people comment on that. I'm not here to uber police your fun, friend, but I'm not going to let someone derail the game.

Worst case scenario gives us only one mislynch to play with at the Second Dance and no information from any First Dance. If we have enough info to decide there are five scummy people with the right breakdowns to implement this, sure. I'm not optimistic that happens. The other issue is that we don't get to process information one flip at a time. I'd like to think that any given lynch/mislynch provides information and that people go on to react to that info.

I'd rather we have people start pairing nearer the end of pre-dance as there's more to get reads from. Let hebichan comment on how towny they are. People try to pair with those they're town reading. Hopefully that gets us pairs across a gradient of towny-towny -- scummy-scummy. We can always lynch the 'worst pairs' first, but then we have the info from who voted them and how they flipped to evaluate subsequent lynches.

FTR I'm also not 100% sold on the plan for hebichan to pair with a scummy person. It does seem to have worked in the game where pirate mollie was the IC, but then she accepted on the second page of the game with zero indication of content having been processed to make it a strategic decision. Just skimming the other two games, I don't think they went for that play, so maybe it is a good idea?

i'm not accepting or rejecting any dance requests until EoD and neither should any other lady

the way i'd like this to play out is for town to collectively decide on a gentleman we're lynching at some arbitrary deadline before EoD (probably using pseudo votes/hurt tags/whatever) and then have hebi assign pairings either randomly (doesn't have to be provable since siterules obv) or using her own judgement so that scum can't influence them

the last two times this setup ran town made a lot of stupid decisions (deliberately pairing with scum to "suicide", leaving the dance too early rather than see who hammers them, accepting proposals too early) and since town still hasnt won a large dance so i'd like to prevent that from happening a third time ^_^

But I mean like, I get the thought process of Hebi assigning partners but A. I kinda wanted to play mafia to have fun with the mechanic and that sucks the fun out but this isn't the biggest issue I have. The biggest issue is B. What if I can sync with Hebi's reads and Hebi tells me to just deal with it? Or C. What if we just want to use a hood to help improve our skills of reading them.
Like for example, I kinda want a hood with people I need to get better reading. Like for example Vecna. I feel like a hood would help me read them. Or ActionDan (who I had a fun time with at Cali Meet), I feel like I could learn how to read them if I was in a hood with them.

Like, I get the mindset you're presenting here, and I'll go with it.

I think waiting for EoD to choose pairings or not is not a huge deal either way. Early pairings, if formed organically enough, could limit scum's options and potentially force a scum/scum pairing. I don't have much hope for a scum gentleman lynch at the end of pre-dance regardless of which option is chosen.

Hebichan choosing pairings makes sense, but also sucks the fun out of it, frankly. I do think that's the best way to actually get a scum lynch before dance phase though.

I'm pretty sure I'd have been happy to partner up with you, but that caveat about no hood talk is a no go, since hoods are fun

Hey guys, im fine with publicly decided pairings/lynch, but I also do think pairing people together with people they are better at reading (due to prior games etc) would improve our chances of finding scum. Id have a slight preference for giga, but if she aint gonna use the hood anyway it doesnt matter much.

We should probably narrow the booting down to the 2 scummiest people and pair the rest before 6 days are past to not have any last minute shenanigans with people not being around. We could even consider pairing our townclear with the 2nd most scummy and keeping the pairr around untill the intermission to increase our odds of the scum not killing the pair with the townclear in the intermission.

Also agreeing here. If a couple can read each other, a couple should form.

I don't agree to scorched earth: it's much more likely to kill town than scum since all scum ladies will find a way to accept anything that comes their way and scum gentlemen can at the very least attempt to ask hebichan or potentionally their scum partner or honestly just work the entire floor. In any case the scum gentleman/ladies are going to have a much much easier time of staying alive than their counterparts. That's not even taking into account apathy, which barely a day into this game is affecting me when I come back to the thread and see 10 pages filled with metric tons of bullshit. Any town that signs up for a scorched earth plan that feels apathetic to the game will find appeal in just dying. It's exactly the same as if town suicides early if they feel they got stuck with a scum partner. And lastly, I see no appeal in getting scum "off balance" by forcing them to take their kill early. They shoot a mostly random town/town pair and the town is no better off for it.

There's zero benefit to 'scorched earth' given that there's no standard nightkills. It's no different then forcing pairs and lynching certain pairs. I don't at all support it.
