Not while you're alive in your first game of mafia, because you're only allowed to play one at a time until then. After that, you can PM the mod of that game and ask to be in their replacement queue.

That's how it works, you did it right. It can take a few days for a game to fill, so now you just need to check in once a day or so for a PM with your role and a link to a game.
