Nah, because every context clue in the sentence was directed at me. No one else called him an asshole. No one else was talking about him for the last page. The word "you" means something.

Everyone else, including those players who don't actually want to play such a slow game, agrees that this is a fine thing to have, even if they had some concerns while it was under development. You're the only asshole still being an asshole.
He's worred that the geriatric ruleset spreading would end up killing the site or just slow the growth of the userbase. (It's already rather slow at the moment I think? Not sure.)
I've talked to him privately about why I disagree (in the sense that I don't think it'll become particularily popular) and that while I agree with him that if it did become popular that the growth of the userbase would be slower than our "competitors", it's not fundamentally really a problem since we're for a different demographic that should exist in some capacity. Obviously if said demographic dies or becomes too small the site would have to adapt.
But yeah, he's actually thinking and worrying about the longterm wellbeing of the site so he's not just trolling.

Sure, but my point is if he wants to discuss those issues he should make a thread about it. This thread isn't about whether the rules are a good idea. This is a thread for people who already think the rules are a good idea to get games together. It's literally the same thing as posting "anime sucks" in a thread about anime discussion, again, something I have been rightfully banned for.
Thats why everyone in this thread thinks hes being disrespectful. If he wants to have a conversation about this, go ahead. Start that conversation. But you don't walk up to a bunch of people playing DnD and say "sup nerds, did you guys know that DnD is terrible?"

I assume Transcend is talking about my reaction to Mulch, and just doesn't want to name me so that I don't respond. I will respond anyway.
Yes, I was an asshole. So was Mulch. I have apologized to the best of my ability for any offense, but I do not feel that I was wrong. I am sure Mulch remains unconvinced as well, and that's that.
What Mulch seems to be proposing is that there is no place for a slower paced game on MS, and I fundamentally disagree. I will happily fight for the right to post only twice a day, and to always have a place to do it on this forum, but this is not the thread for that argument.
If you feel that I shut down worthwhile discussion, feel free to open another MD thread, or even a Site Ideas petition to ban the Geriatric ruleset. You do you. And until I'm banned for doing so, I will continue to do me.
I think if the Geriatric thread causes a microcosm of the community to develop a higher standard of play it will have positive consequences throughout the site. If it doesn't, it's neutral.
I don't and never have understood arguments against it.
2019 stats: Town WR 76.7%, overall WR 81.667%, 1 scum defeat involving a major mod error in lylo vs 8 scum wins.
Hey so, let's shut down any conversation that isn't about planning mafia games based around this ruleset. If you want to have conversations that are not this, start another thread please.

Present an argument for why they should be longer and perhaps it will be considered for implementation. However, I don't believe they need to be lengthened at all.
Actually, don't do it here. I'll make a new thread since this is a thread for game organization not ruleset discussion.

I think the OP of this thread should have the Wiki and the Discussion thread links so people know where to go for discussion and for an expanded view of the ruleset!
