I interpreted the setup as completely random, meaning factions were randomly assigned as normal (3:9, 2:10, or whatever) and then roles were assigned completely randomly. Actually, now that I think about it, role claiming is almost completely worthless other than verifying actions since anyone could claim anything. We could have 12 bodyguards. I guess at this point, we need to decide if keeping a claimed town bodyguard alive outweighs killing scummy Exe.Espeonage wrote:Wait. Question: How did people interpret the set-up judging by the post for the game in the sign-ups? This is an important question so humour me.
If he is a scum bodyguard I don't see why he would ever pick a target; unless it was a forced compulsive protect.
xvart.
The answer that xvart says for Espeonage's question is the correct answer.

Hmmm..
vezok's post is interesting. Keeping that filed away for later if I need it.

I missed Exe's claim. I'd just like to point out that claims in this game are worthless people. Any player can simply look up a role for pro-town alignment and be like "LOL I'M THIS ROLE GUYZZZZ"

Roles are very likely randomized and probably not indicative of alignment, this is true.
I have a question, while I am still alive.
Vezok, you are vanilla townie. So how would you doubt that I am the only protective role in the game? You have no evidence to support this.

Having no other protective role "seems a bit off"?
Roles were assigned based on probability. There is not going to be any setup. Based on probability, it's more likely that there isn't another protectetive role. It doesn't matter "how it seems."
You'll need to actually use some form of logic if they are going to keep you alive over me in this game. Otherwise my death is going to be such a waste.

@quadz - I'm withholding that because I basically lose the leverage I have if he eventually finds out what I'm getting at.
vezok vs. Exe. Scum vs. scum flailing is fun to watch.

Yeah, role claims obviously don't really mean much in this game seeing as scum can just go down that list of roles and pick whichever they please knowing that they can't be CC'd and that there's no balance to worry about, and they're probably more likely to pick a protective role as Exe has done. The arguing between Exe and vez is pretty bizarre, it doesn't really seem genuine to me.
The thing I like about the Exe wagon is that I think it may have caught out Espeonage. First he says this:
Still happy with that quicklynch, Espeonage?
Still like to hear opinions from gandalf, kenman, millar and Zajnet before the day is done as they have barely contributed anything so far.

But when Exe's wagon reaches L-1, of which Espeonage is a part of, he unvotes without giving a reason. So why the sudden change of heart Espeonage?Espeonage wrote:You know. Quick lynches aren't really that bad. Considering that we are going to have alot of PRs in this game a QL might not be a bad thing. I would even support a quicklynch considering the type of game this is.

Espeon: Your unvote confused the crap out of me when you made it, and you haven't provided any sort of clarification. You've also had a couple of answers to your question that followed the unvote. The faster you can explain, the better. Gracias.
Exe vs. Vezok is... interesting. I highly doubt that both of them are scum, and I also doubt that scum would claim VT in this game. Of the two, Exe definitely seems to be the better choice for today's lynch.

EBWOP/Addendum: I'm not ready to throw the hammer just yet. I want to hear a bit more from Exe, and hopefully we can get some opinions from the Forgotten Four tnm mentioned. Barring some pretty incredible news, though, I'm willing to hammer him after I hear some more information.

Exe is lynched! He was a
Mafia
Super Saint.. Thus, in the process of Exe being lynched and him being a saint, you all decide to lynch Espeonage as well! Espeonage was a Town
Jester and has thus fulfilled one of his win conditions. Espeonage will be one of the winners. Night 1 now begins!- quadz08

Ok, first things first: Espeon's a lucky bastard, or he figured out Exe's role amazingly quickly.
Second: Dammit, Espeon. That quickhammer really sucked. I still want to hear millar's thoughts (and kenman's, and Zajnet's, and gandalf's). I'm interested in hearing what people think about xvart being the NK as well.
I've still got my eye on vezok, though much less so now that Exe flipped scum. I'm keeping my options (and my eyes) wide open, though.

Alright. XVart kill doesn't surprise me.
There was something I had hoped to address at the end of D1, but I arrived after the lynch had taken place, and twilight had ended as well.
I am a Town Paranoid Gun Owner.
As PGO, any role that targets me dies. I don't have a say in this, I don't choose who dies and who doesn't. It just happens.
I am claiming with the hopes of avoiding accidentally killing any pro-town PRs. Basically, don't aim for me. This is the only reason I find this claim worthwhile.
There is an upside to this though. Mafia has to trade one-for-one to kill me now. If we're in 3:9 (which I think may be the likely scenario), then they can take a chance tonight and hope that their last remaining player can get through the rest of the game and avoid being lynched. If we're in 2:10, as long as I don't get lynched, the town gets a happily ever after at worst, as the moment mafia tries to kill me, they die.
Re: Exe lynch. It happened fast, but it worked. Espeonage lucked out in getting killed as the Jester.
@quadz - Why do you feel that vezok and Exe were separate alignments?
Also, a light suspicion of quadz has popped up for me. The hesitation to hammer could be a scumbuddy who knows his partner is a super-saint. Very light, but still something worth noting.

Well, I'm sorry for my inactivity, my only excuse is that CEBM was moving so damn fast. My newbie games have suffered as well. I must say, I'm very happy with the way that Exe's lynch turned out. We essentially lost dead weight, so Exe's sainthood didn't harm us very much. So, rereading the game, I see a few things that imply that certain people knew Exe's role. First, there's Zajnet. At the beginning he says, "You forgot super saint in your sig claim, AGar, xD" or something to that affect. I don't know about you, but SS isn't a role that immediately comes to mind for me. Possibly he had recently had his memory jogged? Granted, it's just as possible that he was looking at the roles page. So I'm doubtful of this one. Also,
Idea just popped into my head. Has anyone considered that vezok could be another jester? Because a lot of his posts really do seem like he's just trying to be lynched.
Sounds like he's asking the question so that later he can bring up the fact that he clearly didn't know, since he asked the question. I personally thought it was rather self-explanatory.quadz08 wrote:So, if I understand the mod's opening statements correctly, we were all given an alignment, and then a role. Is it possible, then, that we have a mafia cop, or a town godfather, or a mafia PGO, or other such things? Also, is it possible that you have roles which were given without their complementary role? (i.e., only one mason, or a firefighter with no arsonist?)
