vote: foolster
. I think that a more popular character would be a doctor. Here is my thinking on how we should go about this: Lynch foolster, thus having his character revealed. If he does turn out to be Thomas Peterson, then we bring him back either tomorrow or maybe at a later day. If he isn't Thomas Peterson, than IS is correct and we have scum. But either way, we will know for sure whether foolster is lying or not. And if he wasn't. we know that who we bring back will be a doctor.

The only positive of bringing back the doctor is that the rest of us will be safe for an extra night as the scum just kills him again.

Assuming that he is the doctor, of course. I still say that he is scum.

Oh yeah, the fact that Andy would find him guilty. That's just too convenient for when you make up a claim.

This is true.

At first I thought that there weren't enough characters to fill up a mini game but when I started to name them off the top of my head I came up with plenty. Not that there won't be some suprises but I think that there may be better candidates for doc than a one shot character.

Please don't lynch me until you answer these questions and let me resond.

InHim: What coincidences are you talking about? Me knowing tht Andy sees me as guilty?

As you admited, there aren't really any plausible docs in this world (Aunt Bea is at least somewhat of a stretch) except for Dr. Peterson. I think you're trying too hard to outguess the mod.

If you are scum, you may well need to make up a role name. All the easy ones (Barney, Opie, Andy...) are surely taken, so you'd have to search for an obscure one.

If you are scum, the sheriff will surely find you guilty upon investigation. You'd better put that little tidbit in your role description.

Figured I should probably check in to let people know I'm still around. I've been keeping up on reading, but I haven't really had anything to add to the discussion. Nothing is really jumping out at me as particularly scummy.

Then why are you letting a player you don't think is "scummy" remain 1 vote away from a lynch? That would be worth discussing, I think.

You don't have to step in and take a bullet for him. It's just that you act as though nothing is going on when something is happening. You say that you find no one suspicious yet Foolster is one vote away. If you don't find Foolster suspicous you don't have to defend him to say
'hey, um, maybe you guys are rushing things'
or
'I think that it's possible that the doc will be a small character'.

I don't think the evidence is that great, no, but I don't really see other leads right now. As for rushing, I suppose I'm just a bit frustrated; most of the games I'm in have been going rather slowly. So I'm kinda weighing "crappy evidence and inconclusive result" against "good or bad, at least it will get things moving." I'll read more about national security and the technological development of Japan and sleep on it.

Final Day 1 Vote Count

6 Foolster41 – (Internet Stranger, PeaceBringer, Elnar, Dirge, inHimshallibe, Quailman)
2 Internet Stranger – (help im a bug, davidangelsummers)
1 Elnar – (Lt. Origen)
1 inHimshallibe – (halfpint)

Not voting (1):

Foolster41

With 11 alive, it’s 6 to imprison.

Day 1:
The eleven of you gather in the courthouse to discuss whom you will throw in jail. First, though, all of you are sad at the loss of Gomer. Questions are posed, “Could he have been bad though?” or “Wasn’t just a dumb townie?” or “Perhaps he was something totally different?” Who knows for sure? Anyway, accusations fly and mechanics are discovered. After looking at a couple of people, the majority settles on Foolster41. “He’s scum,” screams IS. You approach Foolster41 to throw him in the cell. He says, “You haven’t heard the las..” as you shove him in the cell.

Foolster41, Ernest T Bass/?, has been lynched day 1. It is now night 2. Choices are due Wednesday, at 4:00pm (Eastern Standard Time).

Night 2:
The night was clear and stars illuminated the sky. A warm fuzzy feeling occupied the town of Mayberry. Perhaps, nothing bad would have tonight.

“Cock-a-doodle-do” crows the rooster. The ten gather at the courthouse. “Hey, no deads, that’s neato.” Now, you all agree to get down to business, that is after some argument arises over a matter of a checkers game 40 some odd years ago.

No one killed night 2. It is now Day 2, with 10, it’s 6 to lynch.

Does anyone have any doubts about Foolster's alignment? I can't really see any reason to lie unless he was actually scum. So it would probably be a good idea to not bring him back.

There's still the issue of Gomer (jediknight). I say we hold off bringing someone back another day at least, especially with no night kill last night. If we lynch incorrectly or someone whose innocence we are very sure of is killed next night, we have more options (and consequently more confidence in our choice) to bring back.

No.

The only person we'd want to bring back is a cop while the doc is still alive. Otherwise we use our ability to revive someone in stead of a lynch, and the person gets killed the next night. Though I suppose bringing back a cop after the doc is dead would give him a chance to reveal his investigations & results prior to being killed the next night. Gomer was not a cop or doc.

Yeah, Foolster definitely looks like scum. I'm rather embarrassed for not voting for him, but at the time his claim looked at least decent, and I didn't want to risk losing a doc. The thing is, I'm not sure who Ernest would be in a scum group with. He seems like a loner character.
