1) We should probably refer to Pappums Rat as Rat (not to indicate any potential role or animal in-game, since it may occur). I don't think Pap or PR is going to work well.

2)
V/LA 3/27-4/1
Sorry to forget to announce it sooner, but the last week had been rather brain scrambling for me too

3) Newman's thing on L-2 is null to me. Could be cautious town or town-cred-grab/buddy protection scum move. Don't think there's enough info to really judge it yet though.

Prod acknowledged.

Firstly, @ Z - I unvoted because it was a joke/RVS vote, and I thought we were well past that point.

VJ, you frustrate me. Why is L2 bad? I've said it before, why do you ignore that? Let me try to be simpler, and spell it out v e r y s l o w l y. We have a deadline of over 10 RL days. What exactly is the rush here?

Also, as I have stated before....we were only 3 pages and 70(ish) posts into the game. Unless someone is jumping up and down, waving their hands in the air screaming "I'm scum, lynch me!!!", then there is no bone fide reasoning for having someone THAT close to a lynch THAT early in the game.

Furthermore, I never said "MS guys always pick on lil' ole me". I said that people that play predominantly on this site all have a very similar style of play. And, anybody that plays outside of that little 'box' is immediately targeted. Case in point, your zeroing in on me, for thinking that the L2 thing was stupid.

something seems off, any one else think this?

My activity is probably what seems off, hiplop, as it is lower than most games; but my V/lA and the whole 10 player game thing have to do with that.

Also my vote on bv310 remains no longer a pure bandwagon vote, but a serious one. Bv310 paid no attention to the bandwagon on them, and the reason I think is because, he is conscious of the purposes of RVS bandwagoning and didn't want to trip any wires. Also doesn't seem interested in scumhunting, but that is less of a point.

Can you link me to another game where you've done this?

Because to me it looks like overly cautious and scummy play.

That's exactly my point. In that post you HAVEN'T GIVEN A REASON AT ALL. Saying that being this close to a lynch this early isn't a reason. Why are we too close to a lynch? How is L-2 even close to a lynch, considering any attempt at a quicklynch should be squelched anyway.

But let's say you're right. It is too early to have somebody at L-2. So no pressure on the guy who I think is suspicious? We have 10 days, so we're going to let them wait 8 before pressuring them? Totes bro.

And lastly don't misrep me. I'm not attacking you because you expressed a different opinion (ie L-2 is a bad thing). I'm attacking you because you haven't sufficiently provided a reasoning for the idea that can be attributed to a townie. Capisce?

also why no vote?

@Z - I was under the impression that most old games were lost due to the site crash. I can link you to off site games if you want.

@VJ - Simply because my reasoning is not sufficient to you, that does not mean that it is any less valid to me. Also, I am nt misrepping you. You say I haven't provided a sufficient reason? I say that I have.

Also, I haven't voted yet because I do not have a sufficient read on anyone to think they are scum.

At least your games that from before November should still be around.

We're only five pages in.

THAT IS MY POINT EXACTLY!!!!!

I'll look up old games later. Don't have time for it now.

Google 'succinct' and then answer my plea, if you will.

Newman looks like flailing scum to me. Defending someone who was in no danger of being lynched makes him look like scum trying to gain townpoints. Crying about the way the game is played on MS.net when he has been here for a year is horseshit. Someone put him to L-1 plox.

Junpei looks like he's trying to derail good points against Newman to bring a serious wagon on bv310, who hasn't done anything indicative of scum.

I'm not, nor have I been, defending anyone. I would've said the same thing regardless of who was @L2.

Am I scum or not?

HellloooNewman wrote:I'm not, nor have I been, defending anyone. I would've said the same thing regardless of who was @L2.

So you would have defended anyone at L-2... this statement is consistent with what pappums said. I don't think it's a scumtell though because that stance by you is consistent with your apparent mode of thought in this game.

The fact that you are so adamant about someone being at L-2 is the problem. As I have already said, people are going to get wagoned D1, thats the way D1 works, it is a fundamental fact, and you condemning it so vigorously makes you look like scum.

P. edit: at this point you are my #2 scumread.

Pappums.. why is saying that people reaching L-2 in the first few pages of a game is bad more likely to come from scum than town? I expect reasoning from both the "scum motive" and the "not town motive" side of things.

Bingo.

Because people who are familiar with MS.net know that large non-lynching wagons spring up on D1. They know that these not-so-serious wagons will die down once discussion has run it's course. Considering that Newman has a year of experience here at MS.net, he knows that this is likely the case here as well. Experienced scum has motivation to come to the "aid" of someone on one of these kinds of wagons because it could make them look better and more protown. Experienced town has no reason to try to make themselves look better.

I am not trying to make myself look better. I am giving my opinion, nothing more. You seem to be the one making a supreme court case out of it.

Why is reaching L-2 on page 3 bad again?

vijay2vasandani wrote:What do you think of his "omg you ms players always pick on me. You guys suck." defense?

In general, I agree with his analysis of the fact that anyone who doesn't play "the ms way" tends to get extra scrutiny from those that do. It's like being racist, but for play style. Based on the fact I've undergone that often during my (almost four year now) stay on the site, I would imagine that I can easily attest to the presence and prejudice of many players here for not being able to be read like a book because of a different communication/play style. This makes me feel that the wagon is craptastic and powered by Scumfuel.

I also really like my Zdenek vote a lot more now than I did in RVS, and now consider it both serious and a welcome place for people who want to get off a terrible Newman wagon.

Riceballtail wrote:This makes me feel that the wagon is craptastic and powered by Scumfuel.

So why is this common misconception (odd playstyles/opinions are suspicious) more likely to be made by scum than town?
