Pretty much after you went Mafia had almost no chance.

Correct.

I think this set up might need some work then.
Having said that -L- did a very good job of making sure they didn't get lynched. However...

The game is not town favoured. I do think I'd make it so the scum automatically kills the central spot.; Also, make it so that in the cases of inevetiable moves (when there's one square that needs to be take or lose), simply making them rather than go to night/day.

Agreed on the second point. Although on the first one I would say perhaps not, just because then the town will play knowing that move
A night start might be better I don't know.

This specific instance of the game happened to favour the town, because we got lucky with the first lynch and the first night-kill. Otherwise, things could have gone much worse, particularly since we didn't scumhunt enough on D1. Had Lincolm turned out to be town and had scum killed Seanald, I was worried we would be doomed to a LyLo we would have no information for.

It might be a bit more balanced if the tie goes to the scum, since town does have the advantage in playing first. In straight-up tic-tac-toe town should never flat-out lose on the grid. In this case I think the NK pretty well outed -L- as the other Mafia, but as others have said, things could have worked out very differently if we'd strung up Master Mew instead of Lincolm the first day.
(I don't know if Micro games get a place on the wiki Records page, but that last day at three posts fits right in.)

The only problem with this setup is that it is quite deterministic from day 3. The Lincolm quicklynch worked well for town in this case, but optimal play for scum would still have been NKing Seanald.

L, why didn't you kill Seanald N1?
Also letting scum win the tie might help balance the game -- after that last lynch both town and scum had 1 living player. If scum won that tie, town wouldn't have been so quick to go for three-in-a-row and would've had to do some scumhunting.

She try to protect herself from lynch. Because after she kill PA, she would not get lynched. Maybe because I got quicklynched, she became desperate, forgot about the tic-tac-toe tactics.

I hate top left corners (because everyone in tic-tac-toe play in there first as first turn). Next time if I'm in top left corner in sequence I will hate Empking.

Used excel to assign the non-Seanald to the eight squares.

I still liked this game alot, was different and fast. Pretty cool I would definitely join another one.

I agree, would definitely play again.

I think people are right about not forcing a central kill N1. I think letting scum win the tie, means that scum will be able to ignore the board (which would be awfully imbalanced.)

But giving the board win preference over the majority win is town-biased. Perhaps that situation should just be declared a tie?

As in this case we could have lynched either me or L to win and is that fair?

What would have been unfair that if the team that clearly played better (town) had one a 1 - in - three chance of winning at he end.

you solve this by making the game bigger and adding more Squares. DUHH

Also if there is a remake it should be Celebrity Squares themed.

I suppose... I guess it's too small to doing t Chess Mafia style, you can place or you can lynch?

I feel like this setup could be improved if the tic-tac-toe win condition didn't trump the standard win condition. In the event that both factions win simultaneously, the standard wincon should prevail.
As it is currently, there's really no incentive to scumhunt in situations like this one.
@Empking: Thanks for hosting! I'd been wanting to play this setup for a while.
