Ah. Misinterpreted the term bastard in this game's context then.

But I do agree it is of utmost importance we not no-lynch due to improper voting formatting.

Greetings!
Am I the last to arrive? Tsk. I must work on my timeliness.

I've not played xylbot before, but I doubt that will cause me too many problems.

Syryana wrote:I am treating this as mountainous for the moment, as there are nearly infinite possible setups with infinite possible powers/combinations/whatever. Once more information is known about possible roles (e.g. night actions or mod-confirmed day actions) I will begin to consider various roles and their contributions. However, at this point we have 13 people in a forum. We've no idea what they are, nor have any of them done anything we can verify in terms of PRs. Therefore all I have to go on is analysis of reactions, hence my statement I will treat this as mountainous.

Yes, it is likely this is extremely power heavy, but none of them are relevant as of right now.

Need I say more? Obviously my treatment of this game as mountainous will cease once we actually have some PR or night actions to work with. Read the thread.

That does not matter. treating the game as mountainous is wrong even when you don't know which powers there are. you know that they exist, that's something.
either way - it shouldn't matter because you don't base your play on what you think people have as roles O_o;; or correct me if I'm wrong - do you have a different strategy for a mountainous?
shos wrote:Serra brought it to my attention that Varsoon has responded too heavily to the 'accusation' of sorta-lurking.

This is a pretty good point. I'm keeping my vote on Sharper for the moment though; dude completely ignored my questions from a couple pages ago.
you guys are goint o have to explain the Sharper votes for me.

shos wrote:Also about Massclaim - no, not at all. what difference is it from any other setup in which you offer a massclaim D1??

Balance is determined by Xylbot not by Khan.

Normal balance on the site dictates a lot of VTs.

Balance in this game dictates like 1 or 2 VTs, with one of those probably not a VT.

Wacky =/= balanced. this game could have 10 JoaTs and 3 goons, or, threee 3-man scumteams and 4 VTs.

Your point? If the game is unbalanced than all the better to mass claim and give us a better chance of winning by directing PRs and shit.

PRs may or may not exist. If they do exist, they may or may not be able to do something during the day. Either way, it doesn't matter right now. For all intents and purposes, discussion on PRs right now is completely pointless. Therefore, I am going to ignore them, thus treating the game as mountainous, until such time as consideration of the PRs becomes relevant.

In short, stop wasting space talking about the f@#$ing power roles until we either massclaim or see some flips. The only thing this discussion will net us at the moment is a free way for scum to look industrious.

Pedit: The game may be balanced, but it most likely isn't. Either we can choose to massclaim or not.

Someone give this guy a medal.

I don't think we should mass claim yet. We don't know in which direction the game is unbalanced.

Serra brought it to my attention that Varsoon has responded too heavily to the 'accusation' of sorta-lurking.

It's more that he responded to an 'accusation' that wasn't even made.

Sharper is also a good vote, though.

Oh, huh, I guess I could see how it'd seem like that.

No, I was speaking towards the fact not many people were posting. At the time, it was me, twiddling my thumbs, F5ing my 'View your posts' page.

Also, didn't I tell you guys that the PRs don't matter right now? Let's play this day as if there are no PRs.

Sarcastically calling Syr's post vacuous or disagreeing with a mass lynch?

There are some setups that could certainly be broken with a mass claim, but if the game is already slightly scumsided with no protection roles, a mass claim can seal the game against town very quickly by pointing out optimal NKs, of which there are probably several.

Varsoon, if you expect 112 to be a reaction test, why point that out straight away?

Now can everyone who's talking about the setup on...page 4 or so just shut up. You're being as useless as you're claiming BB is.

Syryana wrote:Need I say more? Obviously my treatment of this game as mountainous will cease once we actually have some PR or night actions to work with. Read the thread.

Mountainous's basic definition is just vanilla town and vanilla scum. This game is garaunteed to have at least 3-4 PRs on either side. This kind of thinking is kinda dumb, really.

PimHel wrote:And after one day, we're talking about 'not-so-talkative' people ._. Bad ._.

Eh?

PimHel wrote:No, you didn't. But if you start talking about 'not-so-talkative' people, you should have at least players in mind.
Because it's way too early to talk about things like that. Take me for example. Just after you posted it, I was done with dinner. Before I started posting, I only had 1 post. Why? Because of my sister's birthday, staying over at my boyfriend's and work. People have lives and calling them out after one day of playing is bad.

Good.

Varsoon wrote:Pre-game is over.

Let's keep our personal lives out of the game. ATE comes up sometimes and I'd rather it not in this one

Bad. At least, in context of what PimHel is saying.

Then again, not like Mafia>Life, right? Plus, AtE is unfortunately unavoidable.

Varsoon wrote:I've seen games where scum has lurked 15 pages and made clever dodges about family and loved ones in order to dodge suspicion. We all, as players, understand that people are busy and can't lurk the forums 24/7. I think that we can also agree that if a player makes no post within about 5 days, they should be scrutinized.

I don't think what you're talking about is what Pim means. Besides, it's only been one day <_<.

BBmolla wrote:Determining the approximate of xylbot is relevent.

Is it useful, though? Saying the role I had last game may be relevant, but it's nigh-on useless for the purposes of this game. And as I said, Katsuki doing what really amounts to the same thing was useless.

serrapaladin wrote:That's not quite true - last game we did sort of solve it towards the end.

BECAUSE of what Katsuki was trying to post?

serrapaladin wrote:It's really not 'bastard' in the sense you're implying though. There are some non-standard roles, is all.

KK
will not
, however, count votes in the wrong format. Even caused us a No Lynch last game...

I do remember that, though...

BBmolla wrote:The game isn't balanced that's my point

I still don't see what's so good about massclaiming, though.

serra looks town to me. I think I like Pim, too, though I can't say that's because of relevant info.

I think you mean mass claim. And I wouldn't have to make vacuous posts if people wouldn't keep being deliberately obtuse about the phrase "treating this as mountainous."

I take back my serra scumread, his way of speaking pings my scumdar for some reason, this is the second game that's happened.

I don't really feel like Policy Lynching Monkey anymore I'm just gonna let him slip his alignment on his own.

You've never reaction tested a possible reaction test?

Aside here, but eyeroll has to be the douchiest emoticon anyone could insert into their text. Every time I see it, I cringe. I guess it's cool to be an ass, but eyeroll just feels juvenile and crass.

On the real, about Voidedmafia hyperbolizing what I said about not bringing up our personal lives in game to avoid AtEs, that's equally embarrassing. I don't know if it's scum or just asinine to go into a game and employ rhetoric that's inflammatory and littered with hyperbolic interpretations of what people say.
