Actually I just viewed posting a lot without making much content as scummier than the vibe I was getting from DW. Also, I think that your discussion with RR was more of an actual conversation that the DW thing.

While I concede there some level of "selfishness" (though I don't think that town loses anything from it since I never lurked and will be hopefully be immediatly repalced on Tuesday, and if I won't that's completely the mod's fault), I don't think that it's anymore selfish than anyone else leaving a game for no-time-at-all concerns. I honestly don't think I'll be able to keep up with so many games anywhere near as well as I want to, and I'll be doing this town a great disservice by knowingly judging you to deal with my lurking.mathcam wrote:That said, my complaint was that you were making a conscious decision to abandon a game rather than adjust your personal preference level of how much you wanted to post, which seems selfish.
I don't see how that's hypocrital. I wasn't complaining about anyone else or anything, I was truefully saying I personally have no idea how to make this game start going faster. If you want me to come up with some lameass theory I don't really believe just to get people to resopd, I will, though I don't think that's particularly smart.mathcam wrote:But this is exactly the hypocritical point! No one else does either!

Shalom, tov lehiot po.
O.k, I read the thread and here are my 2 cents:
On the Dean vs. Cam issue, I find neither of them scummy. Dean's vote on Thok was a random vote.
Nevertheless, 2 people jumped on Thok wagon for no reason at all. Dean thinks his vote was taken too seriously and Unvotes before the somewhat weird bandwagon got out of hand.
I don't find Cam scummy because he didn't actually, for my opinion, try to push for a Dean bandwagon, Cam just spot out his moves and tries to get a new angle for the discussion.
I find JDodge posts scummy. First he lurks a lot, saying nothing at all. Then, after being called for lurking he says he'll reread and post something.
Then, he comes up with 2 quotes of players complaining that the game moves slowly and urges them to write something. He does that instead of writing any of his thoughts or impressions on the game.
Thok has 7 posts, all one liners, no thoughts, impressions, theories or any other sort of content. What up with that Thok? You really have nothing to say?
The player who I find most scummy though is AndrewS.
The guy changed his vote 6 time over 5 pages of posts. First, a random vote, then an OMGUS vote, fine. But then starts the crap logic:
Afterwards he changes his vote to Thok (post 37) but quickly Unvotes because "he misunderstood" Thok's post.
I think that Andrew just realized that he was the 3rd person on Thok's bandwagon and just didn't want to be that person, for reasons well known.
Andrew then changes his vote to Mathcam.
In post 87, Andrew agrees with Mathcam's idea and gladly votes for D_mage, even when earlier in the game he declared that he finds Mathcam scummy.
So, as I see it, AndrewS throws his votes around (I think he just wanted to see which bandwagon sticks), he's wagon hopping and uses crap logic to cover for all of it.
Well, vote worthy? I think so.

I find it as an excuse to hop on a bandwagon, because Dean's vote for Thok was as good as a random vote, of course there is no ground for this vote.AndrewS wrote:

Your grounds for voting Thok are none too good. That being said, it's barely more than a random vote.

I see the reasoning "I'm voting for you because you think X is scummy and I don't" as, well, crap logic.AndrewS wrote:I'm going to have toVote: Mathcam, as I can't see dean's actions being particularly scummy. Still, I applaud his effort as to trying to get something going.

Oh, come now - I was trying to get
discussion
to stick. With nothing to go on, my votes were little more than random. As for the Thok issue, I completely misunderstood what he meant - I thought that he meant that he was convinced that Dean was scum this early in the game. That would be suspicious in my opinion, at least the most scummy action that I had seen. As for Mathcam, he made a valid suggestion: Get rid of the lurkers. Considering the speed (or lack thereof) of which this game has been going, it seems wholly reasonable."I hear that random.org punches babies." - Thesp

@ JDodge:
what do you think about everything I wrote except for the part about you?
Do you agree/disagree? Do you have any opinion other than "this game is slow"?
@ Andrew:
You changed your vote 6 times so far. I think that in order to get a discussion to stick, you actually stick with your vote and try to reason it in order to see how other player react to it.

I agree with you on mathcam being town and AndrewS' vote hopping. I find DW to be a bit scummy and cannot pass judgement on Thok as I do not know his usual playstyle.Mojo wrote:@ JDodge:

Now that makes a bit more sense.
As for my vote-hopping, let me go through and justify each one:
Wldhrt - Completely random - rolled a d20
Raging Rabbit - Joke vote because he didn't like Rather Dashing, still in the random vote stage
DeanWinchester - His vote on Thok wasn't that well reasoned and I had nothing else to go on
Thok - already explained above
Mathcam - I thought that his vote on Dean was questionable. That being said, I don't feel that he is scummy any more, having read more of his posts. Watching his interactions with others, I can't see him being scum with any of them.
Dragyn_Mage - Inactivity, as per Cam's suggestion - still looks like the best bet, considering that we've been through only 5 pages in 3 weeks.

Heh. Ma kore?Shalom, tov lehiot po.
We've been doing a sorta Israeli count in the book dissing discussion, you're now the 5th. Hebrew Vengeful looks incredibly promising. Flavorful as well.

Since it's better than random lurkervote -
unvote, vote JDodge.
Thok's PR seems resonable, and so does AndrewS' exlanation for his wishy-washisness, though it was still a bit overdone imo.

Hi Yos! Hi Thok! Hello the rest of you.
So I read back through the game and the guy who sticks out to me most is DeanWinchester.
It's not particularly original to suspect him I know but he's giving of a whole lot of scummy vibes. I mostly agree what others have said about him; his unvote on Thok felt like he was trying to placate someone and his later explanations don't seem to match his earlier behaviour.
I also find the central scrutinizer to be suspicious. He's said very little and has made several attempts to get a lurker lynched, which can be an easy place for scum to put thier vote, because it avoids any chance of a fight.
I don't find Andrew S. that suspicious, mainly because I vote-hop a heck of a lot myself when town and so I can sympathize with his playstyle.
JDodge and Dragyn_Mage need to post more. They're both really hard to read.

I find this to be extremely OMGUS-y. I say that you're complaining about a lack of content without contributing any. A short while later you latch onto someone else's logic to vote me.Raging Rabbit wrote:QFTMojo wrote:I find JDodge posts scummy. First he lurks a lot, saying nothing at all. I say I have no idea who's scummy. I then say I agree with brother Mojo's reasons for finding you scummy, and since I have nothing better I vote you. Where exactly do you see a contradiction here?JDog wrote:I say that you're complaining about a lack of content without contributing any.
