"I happen to think this person is scummy and that's fine; go away" is a warrant I don't in this case agree with.
Fircoal wrote:Ethers says that she is not comfortable with the bandwagon of me. Yet, she thinks that trying to find scum, and starting with the scummiest is scummy.
I'm not sure what you're trying to argue. I saw two people who said simply, "Yeah. Cool," to get onto a wagon that hadn't really piqued my interest until you lashed out at Sarc afterward: Sarc's vote just looked like a regular early-game vote. (At the time, I'd have been happier on Pug.) I'm never enamored with posts like that, no--I did have a dilemma when I placed the vote.
Fircoal wrote:I know it's a different point of view, but I don't think she as considered that I thought he was scummier.
I didn't like the consideration. (*shrug*)
Fircoal wrote:And worse she votes the bandwagon she thought was scummy. On that reasoning.
No. I provided two reasons for my vote: the fact that I felt you weren't paying attention to the nuances of your wagon, and a Pug/you conspiracy theory.
Fircoal wrote:Then it looks like she gives out a hint to me. Which, confuses me, because why would town, give out hints to supposed scum?
(That's Ether for, "I acknowledge that I'm on a fairly large wagon, but don't worry, I'm perfectly careful.")

I voted him because he provided the bad logic.

Well I taught that coming up with the flawed reasoning was scummier.

I'm sorry, but this just doesn't compute. If you're going to take the stance that
all
votes
must
carry with them the intention to lynch, I don't see how you can vote for someone because they're "the best lead to follow right now" or for the purpose of "getting things going again". Does this mean that you're willing to lynch both Fircoal and PBuG at this point? Have you changed your mind about Fircoal? Would you care to explain why you'd be willing to lynch PBuG? Why are you so content to attach yourself to bandwagons with little justification?

If you'd actually read my posts, you'd see that I meant to say that I will vote for the person I think would be the right lynch at this time. If someone is the best lead to follow
right now
, to me that means that person is also the best lynch right now. Getting things going again is a reason too, but it's not the reason I think he's the best lead right now.

Even if I accept your rather weak explanation, it still sounds like you're admitting that "getting things going" is a valid reason to vote for someone. You previously seemed rather opposed to that idea.

I'd appreciate it if you would answer my other questions, too. In particular, how willing are you, exactly, to lynch PBuG and Fircoal?

On this new argument I can see both sides of the argument. While it is a bit of a contradiction. From what I remember he did explain a bit of what he thought.

My vote's off Fircoal and on PBuG. That means that if I had to chose who to lynch at this time, it'd be PBuG rather than Fircoal. I liked Fircoal's recent posts, and I'm not really suspicious of him right now. I switched to PBuG, because some of his posts bothered me. We do not have to lynch at this point, so I'd rather not lynch him right now.

You wouldn't care to go a bit deeper into your reasoning that "PBuG's suspicious" and "Fircoal's no longer suspicious"?

I still don't really like your change in attitude about voting. You didn't seem to agree with my statement in which I basically said the same thing - that I found Fircoal scummiest out of everyone, but I wouldn't be prepared to lynch him yet. Anyway, I don't think this debate is really going anywhere, so I'm willing to drop it.

I would still prefer a little more explanation for your switch from Fircoal to PBuG.

Something to this effect got lost when the board went down:
Pug's post 50 also helped me choose between the wagoners and Fircoal, with its pointless acknowledgement. Psst--you should vote someone.
I'm usually fairly conservative with my votes especially early in the game

I don't have much time right now but I will try to post something more substantive within the next few days

I'd like to point out that this is wrong. She felt their votes were off, but you attacked Sarc, whose vote was completely legitimate.

Fircoal, why do you think Sarc is scummy for starting a bandwagon? That's, well, the least scummiest part of a bandwagon, the person who starts it, unless it's like for some crap reason and they're continually pushing for said person's lynch. I don't think Sarc has done that.
FoS:CES
(Especially since he's not the same CES I thought he was. Scum instead of sum, and no nibbler). First off I didn't like the bandwagons are for lynches. Second, he said he'd look over Ether's posts, but if he would have been paying attention to the game, he would have known that Ether had only made two posts (a confirm, and the one that voted Fircoal) which signifies to me he was looking for an easy wagon to hop on again.

I think his explanation was more backpedaling to try and explain his vote and avoid some heat, as it came right after Sarc talking to Fircoal the difference between their two 'voting styles'.

The Fircoal wagonwas a wagon that was formed for the fact that Fircoal kept on spamming. In the context of AniX's post, I thought that was telling. However, I liked Fircoal's later posts, and I'm leaning to him being town right now. That means I don't want to vote him anymore. The activity in this game was awfully low, so I didn't want to stay voteless, and voted PBuG because he was the best lead at that moment. Mainly because he joined a wagon without actually commiting himself to anything.

Okay, I'm officially back, again. I got buried under philosophy, math, and biology homework. It's the end of the semester, things are getting crazy.

After reading through, I saw two people who irked me. PBuG and Fircoal.

PBuG: He says he'd post more if others posted more, but makes absolutely no commitment to posting himself, and gives no content. Mind, I did roughly the same thing, but more out of lack of time. He then proceeds to bandwagon Fircoal with a "I agree." post, followed by defending the bandwagon and THEN saying "I'm not on this for a lynch." He hasn't posted much content since.

Fircoal: He got really defensive about his spammy posts and being called out for them. Then he goes off on Sarcastro for 'starting a bandwagon' when it was clearly not Sarcastro's intent. Sarc started with a random vote that was made serious when Fircoal just spammed. There's no bandwagoning there. He says that he'd call someone out even when scum, essentially screwing with a way to save himself. He continually assaults Sarcastro for craplogic, putting words in Sarc's mouth. He also calls Ether out for 'disliking the bandwagon' when the part he BOLDED said she didn't like the two VOTES. She said nothing about the bandwagon itself, or its reasons.

Fircoal has a bigger case against him, though my eye is on PBuG too.

Vote: Fircoal
to put him back up to.. 4? 3?

I also think the lurkers need to post more. I was gone because I was REALLY busy, but no one else has really made any excuse.
