It's not entirely pointless and the unnecessary abandon with which you threw yourself at it tells me you're probably town, but it doesn't get us anywhere if we don't hunt scum too.Skruffs wrote:What exactly was I supposed to start off with page one?
I mean, seriously? I think it spurned discussion, and it at least brought up that role names aren't important/definitive of who scum is. You can't say that wasn't helpful.
So no, it wasn't pointless. It was silly. Big difference.

Machiavellian-Mafia wrote:Flavor speculation usually isn't helpful at all, especially beginning of day 1, and it often causes town to go on a tangent and not focus on scumhunting. And it is often a tool scum uses to make them seem to be participating when they are really just lurking in plain sight. And now you even admit yourself that it was pointless.
This reads like a conflation of lurkishness and scumminess. Also, why PBuG and not others?Machiavellian-Mafia wrote:Also I just noticed PBuG minimal contributions to this game.unvote, vote: PBuG
At least, I'm assuming this is not a pressure vote, as that would sort of contradict your own statement above it.

Mod: Do I really have 2 votes? If not my vote is on PBuG.
How so? Should I not express my opinions? And I voted PBuG because he was the one that jumped out the most to me. And after my previous post, PBuG even reaffirmed his lack of contribution by admitting he doesn't see "anyone worthy of voting right now".VitaminR wrote:This reads like a conflation of lurkishness and scumminess. The end justifies the means.
I'm contributing that nobody is jumping out as scum, but I changed my mind.Machiavellian-Mafia wrote:PBuG even reaffirmed his lack of contribution by admitting he doesn't see "anyone worthy of voting right now".
Vote: Machiavellian-Mafia

Definitely unfairly exaggerated. But, the vote is kind of useless right now, but because it served its purpose of spurring conversation.VitaminR wrote:Unfairly exaggerated, of course, but you get my drift.
unvote: Skruffs
PBuG wrote:I'm curious about why there was a Skruffs wagon, Skruffs looks like town to me right now.
Skruffs is right. I wanted to spur conversation, there were two people I didn't recognize the flavor for, and his was less recognizable than VitR's. So I voted for him.Skruffs wrote:Reason : It was an easy wagon
Why is that? Why not me or ubertimmy? If I weren't me I would probably have chosen me or him for a pressure vote, me because I got quiet as soon as some pressure was placed on me, or him because he's been quiet and cryptic all game. But given that I am me (I think), and there is enough pressure on him I see no reason to vote, but I willMachiavellian-Mafia wrote:And I voted PBuG because he was the one that jumped out the most to me.
FoS: ubertimmy
. Not because he voted for me, but because it's not clear why. Also, about Calvinball, my rule was turned down because it was too complicated. So I figure you can make rules, they just need to be simple enough like the rules we've seen so far.

thanks for the unvote, fooby.
I completely missed the part where we could submit rules; i was gone that weekend. Can anyone confirm their rules were made?
For those fossing me for not 'really scumhunting' - that will come in time. This is simlar to exile mafia where i wnat to feel out how the game works before i start trying to really play it. THe interchange with PJ earlier was very healthy for me. (Thanks again PJ). The real scum hunting is going to commence soon.

It seems to me so far simplistic and humourous rules can be added, such as my 1-vote-only rule after I pointed out the mod's mistake. I haven't proposed any rules before or during the game.Skruffs wrote:thanks for the unvote, fooby.

Also it's nice to see that you will begin scumhunting
The end justifies the means.
I have only had time for a most cursory of read-throughs, but based on that I am most dissatisfied with milkman's participation.
(sorry- this may doublepost)
Vote: milkman
. Also, I am traveling this week, but have confirmed that I will have Internet access, albeit limited. Seeing the mod's own level of access, I figured offering to be replaced was unnecessary, but if it becomes so, very well.(sorry- this may doublepost)

I meant that in voting PBuG solely for not contributing you're confusing lurkishness with scumminess. In this context, I don't think it's justified to see non-activity as a reliable indicator of alignment.Machiavellian-Mafia wrote:How so? Should I not express my opinions? PBuG, why did Machiavellian-Mafia "ping your scumdar?"

. The principle of not liking leaving votes on people while having limited access for a possibly extended period of time trumps the principle of not liking unvoting players before they’ve addressed what I’ve voted them for. At the rate this game has been going and with the holiday, I pessimistically expect that both issues will get addressed simultaneously.
