You're town, but I have no F'n idea what you're even trying to accomplish.

On the contrary, actually.

I'd rather be out of the coalition because I'm not approaching this game to win with the coalition.

How many times did town properly prepare for the coalition failing?

I'm approaching the game to play to my win condition; this is actively playing against yours for your own satisfaction.

hot take
let's try to get an all town coalition
and if we don't
then let's play the game as a 7:2 mountainous with the bonus info from the coalition
is this really that difficult why is there any goddamn strategy

there's only one actual reason to want to not be in the coalition, and that's if you consider yourself SO difficult to read/frequently misread as town that you assume you're going to be instantly lynched if a coalition fails with you in it. And even that's not necessarily a good reason.

what in your opinion are the proper steps to prepare for this
we've already ensured we have sufficient supplies of water, spam, and canned soup
what else could we possibly need

i do really want an answer to that question though

what do you mean that the town wasn't properly prepared? Do you mean that towns lost by forming coalitions in such a way that if they failed, they wouldn't get sufficient information to then solve the game? How, exactly, do you think we ought to form a coalition so as to get that information?

I'm mostly just looking to make sure that both scum aren't in the coalition, because a scumflip outside of it is far more informative than a scumflip inside of it.

And, worst case scenario? I'm not all that worried about how people are reading me, I'm more interested in seeing how people get to their coalition reads so I have more to look at later on in the worse case scenario.

I am starting to townread Blake's posting. Still happy with Skygazer, Northsidegal probably should do before I jump to any conclusions about her alignment. I'm not sure why you're so pessimistic about our odds of winning with coalition Blake, I think several people have been very towny this day phase and assuming my townreads keep being towny I only really need one additional slot to clear themselves (assuming that I myself am townread enough to be in coalition.)

That's a really bad (not good) read.

I'm still not townreading Implosion. He feels more like he's trying to force himself to present as towny than that he's organically towny.
Not a strong read still but I feel like I should make that read known since several others seem to be townreading him.

I think people are confusing me planning around the coalition failing with me being pessimistic about it failing?
