I'm scumreading this regardless of whether it's a lie or not.

If it is, I would expect scum to be inclined towards instinctively lying about something trivial due to difficulty discerning posts which pose a threat to their survivability from those that don't.
If it isn't, 24 reads as a pretty self conscious post and again something I expect to come more from scum because they prioritize survival over solving the game.

In my opinion, getting an elim today is a town sacrifice for more information. But if we flip a PR, that is mafia's advantage.
Getting no elim today gives mafia less info for hunting PR's (i mean less chance for mafia to kill pr)

You're right they are almost the same, the elim path is only slightly better (2%) assuming maf don't find any breadcrumbs.
But a 22% chance of hitting scum (much higher if town have good reads) is safer IMO cus what are the chances that the living PR is an investigative? And what are the chances that an extra tracker check proves to be useful?

Anyhoo I'm confident about my reads on BM and Mini so I'd rather eliminate today.

About trackers... I dunno. Tracker would catch falseclaimers, prove real PR and find mafia, who kills at night. Seems fine, because mafia almost allways fakeclaim.

It is possible that they are mafia buddies, or mason-mason townies. But we don't know for 9, as we have 9 possible role lists, but we have one common knowledge that there at least 5 VT and 1 mafia goon.

Hello, guys! I'm here to replace the afk guy. I haven't played in months, and it's my first time replacing a slot instead of playing form the game's opening. Thankfully the game is only 5 pages long, so I have caught up already. I'm not exactly sure what to think, because my RVS-derived reads usually suck. By that I mean that I don't exactly buy Emperor's defense or BM's accusation, but rather I'm interested on the interaction between those two. As scum, I usually am a big fan of fighting my scum buddy early in the game so people read the conflict as at least one of the two being town, but it's hard to feign a convincing interaction. I am not exactly sure if these two players are capable of feigning a discussion, so I'd prefer to see how stuff moves between them through D1 to really determine a read on any of them.

I have not played with any of you, so if I misgender any of you/confuse some of the people that have no profile picture (my small brain mixes stuff up like that a lot, lol).

About eliminating someone through votes: I prefer that to be the case instead of voting not to eliminate anyone. I'm on the side that thinks eliminating a player can bring information both if they're town or scum, based on the interactions of that player with the people that accused them/defended them.

I like that BM is enthusiastic about his reads as well, because nothing is more boring than a game that doesn't move, but I would like to explore other players too, in case scum can coast through a town player being accused. As such, I would like RLotus to come over and talk a bit more to get more perspectives out there. And I'll try to be here often so we can get some conversation going, too!

can you explain how you "don't exactly buy Emperor's defense or BM's accusation"? Like, whatever our alignments (taking your point Emp and I could both be scum), one of us is right, and the other is wrong. So I'm not mad about an opening post which doesn't take a position on that.

As far as I'm concerned, and I have in fact said this, there isn't a BM vs Emperor thing here. There's a bunch of scummy behaviour from Emperor which I eagerly called out - my hypothesis was that others would have done the same in my position. That hypothesis was been borne out to some extent, although less than anticipated.

true, although my point was more that, if Emp was town, wouldn't he be mindful of Enchant white-knighting him? maybe Emp-town has a blindspot, or maybe it's just Emp-scum who is only really focussed on self-preservation.

Did anyone else spot that after I called him out for not engaging with Enchant, he picked a pretty bland Enchant post to respond to, with a similarly un-exciting answer? (see post 102). Not only that, but the response didn't really marry up with the original post. Enchant was arguing that scum may not have been on their wagon, and Emp 'agrees' by saying the opposite - that scum probably were on their wagon.

no, because you were both wrong. And I struggle with the idea that 2 town players both reached the same bold and incorrect conclusion whilst failing to acknowledge each other. I don't buy the newbie defence because Emp is an SE.
