People throw around the phrase "game state" and it is such a load of horse hockey

It's like they think there's this yin/yang of a combined, united scum who know what they want and pursue it accordingly, counterbalanced by a disparate but rational set of town actors working in harmony or disharmony.

I have never once in my life seen people reference this effectively and use it to discern even the most basic of truths because in reality the players are a bunch of wild indecisive animals who shit on the floor and step on each other with only a thin veneer of rhyme or reason

the first time I ever saw someone reference "game state" was some townies who said the mafia were doing "game state nightkills"

in actuality we were just trying not to shoot our own traitor

we swept that game easy

by easy i mean we shot our own traitor and at elo the dude stood up and said "pooky im your traitor just vote with me and we'll win"

Yeah this phase didn't last nearly this long when i planned it in my mind, not going to lie.

If I were to do it again I think i'd have both teams submit votes privately to nominate players, most popular on each team gets nominated, then both the teams come together and disccus / vote in between

It seems like losing access to half the playerlist is just an annoying limitation

There is a second event that involves splitting the players but they do not make any decisions that involve the other group of players. You can talk to and decide with the people that actually matter for the decision.

i did not anticipate it being this hard to choose a nominee -- I was expecting there to really only be 1-2 suspects for each team, not 4-5. The contestants are so far apart in thinking that the incomplete info they have right now is debilitating.

Like I said, shitting all over the floor and stepping on each other. "I bet the scumteam did this" when they slip and eat shit

Note to self: splitting players up into groups and have them make decisions that involve players not in the group -- . If I'm gonna do that, having players talk in separate PTs is not the way to go, lets this happen

There aren't any events where that happens again so it's not as bad as it could be at least.

every event that has happened so far was intended to mimic eliminations in that you could analyze votes as being for "the person you think is scum". Unfortunately i think i didn't make the events clear enough

In Event #3 though I'm unsure how "put 2 players you think are scum into the duel to the death" wasn't universally agreed upon for the longest time
