Mmyep.

I feel like Lynch All Lurkers -- especially active lurkers -- is an easy way to win a lot of games as town but for whatever reason, not many people want to go by it (and will sometimes find people who do scummy for some odd reason, which disincentivizes -- shut up Firefox, that's totally a word -- players who would otherwise follow it <_<)

If the collective playerbase stopped tolerating lurkers so much, players would stop having incentive to lurk and I think we'd have more interesting, more challenging, or at the very least certainly more active games.

For example, as much as I
loved
the original Always On I couldn't help but feel a little like scum never really fought for their win condition that game. Most/all of them lurked themselves to death, in fact. In stark contrast, MattP's play in the Reckoning Always On was a great example of the potential power a scum player can wield with that format (and frankly, in hindsight I kinda feel like he deserved to win).

Everyone who cared in this game was killed pretty early on. I hate these games that end with the most apathetic left alive. Sure, it's a good way for anti-town to achieve their wincon, so it's understandable that it happens, but... meh. It makes for a boring post-death read. :/

(why am I still awake halp)

I'm glad you enjoyed the flavor, and also I apologize for not being as consistent with it over the latter half of the game due to personal life shit. I tried to make up for it with an extra-awesome conclusion, though!

Don't worry about it, man. Flavor is just icing on the cake, anyway. It's staying on top of the stuff that actually affects the outcome of the game that's important. Flavor can make a good game great sometimes, but a lack of it isn't going to have nearly the same effect as, say, having to wait like two weeks for an inactive slot to be replaced or having players telling other players to kill themselves IRL and having the mod never say anything about it.

(In case that seemed oddly specific, yeah, I've seen both of those at least once.)

Now I have to ask though, was the flavor in quadz's posts yours, too? The way you write that ^ it sounds like it might have been.

Yes, I did all the flavor for the game. Since quadz was around more and handling the other modding duties more frequently as the game went on (and eventually, pretty much all of it), I went and edited in my flavor writeups into his posts whenever I had time to get them done. Actually, if I'd been able to be around more reliably, I think we make a pretty good modding team. We definitely worked well together in building the setup, and we each have different parts of modding that we enjoy, which meant that we complimented each other well as co-mod. Thankfully, quadz was doing the truly important stuff, since I kinda checked out in the middle. :(

I suck at flavor, basically, so whenever I co-mod, I try to farm that duty out to the other guy. :P

really fucking sorry guys,

the timing on this game could not have been worse for me, didn't mean to drop the ball.

I don't usually suck at modding, but I definitely would rather farm out VCs to my co-mod. =P ^5!

Well played, Nuwen.

I wish I was a bit more active this game, but I ended up taking on too many games without realizing it. My hohum hammer was pretty bad, I think I tricked myself into believing I was thinking too hard and Nuwen's pushing was the breaking point there.

It was a fun game. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of roleflips, made things a bit murkier than I would have liked.

For a brief moment, I considered voting Nuwen because of Axxle's comment about her claim not making sense, and her behavior regarding SK suspicions. But then I decided that I would feel really stupid if Trollie were scum and hammered that. I decided that although there was some evidence for nuwen being SK, I still had a townread and if she was scum, then it was a well deserved win.

So congrats on your well-deserved win!
