@ Inte - sorry, dude, but you are in a tough spot. Both previous slot holders were scummy.

As to the post you quoted, even you have to admit that I'm right. In fact, I think you said something similar in a game we were in together. I tried looking but I think it was eaten by tigers. Just pretend for a second that it was some other empty slot they were voting for. Would you expect them to unvote?

you said yourself that they were empty slots

how do you come to the conclusion they are scum from being an empty slot

i would expect them to unvote when its been a complete lurker in the slot. town's fault for letting him do it anyways

No, this is a load of crap. What you are both telling me is that your convictions were strong enough to lynch an empty slot but as soon as someone is here to defend it you think there's a chance they can prove that the slot that you were certain is scum may actually be Town?

This isn't a question of etiquette. This is a matter of claiming to have a case against two people in the same slot. Why should it matter that a third person is in the same slot if both of the first two were scummy? This goes back to my earlier statement about why I don't like seeing people voting for vacant slots even if they were slightly scummy. This just reinforces that statement and makes me question why you were on the wagon in the first place if you are not now willing to see it through.

THIS is what makes the unvote super scummy.

Dude...this is mafia and things change all the time. I still have a scum read on Pizza due to his play and interaction with Ben. I still have a scum read on Split. I don't know what my read is going to be on inte, but I'm not about to not do him the courtesy of catching up and getting a read on him. I hate to break it to you, but sometimes you can have scum reads on innocent people. In a game I was in recently, I made a case against someone and we were getting a wagon on him. He replaced out and I refused to vote for the replacement until he got caught up and gave his reads. People gave me crap for being too ethical because how could my opinion change anyway if the slot was scum. It actually wasn't scum, it was a healer, and I realized the newbie was innocent. Hell, I recently replaced into a game and everyone thought my slot was the SK and were in the process of lynching my empty slot when I replaced in. They still were going to lynch me because they were convinced of my scum read. Within a few days things changed drastically, I became a town read and won the game in LyLo. Things happen in mafia, and you have to learn how to adapt.

Dammit. Sorry. Tammy fully agrees with the above sentiment :)

I don't like to do self-meta but in Metroid Mafia I got in on an empty slot wagon then unvoted when someone replaced in "to gave them a 'fair' chance to catch up." It was an easy way to earn Town cred. I don't remember if I got called out on my unvote or not
but in general if you are going to vote for an empty slot you better have a good reason to do it [unless you are scum, obv].

@Inte - it wasn't an "empty" slot until Split asked for replacement. Before that, they were both active [to the mean, anyway]. Your slot currently has more posts than TML [for example], who is one of my obvTown reads. It would take a complete knucklehead or scum slip to change my read on that slot. It would pretty much take Han Solo and a not-guilty result to make your slot NOT scummy.

Glad you agree with me.

What is this "amished" business about?

Can you give a sentence or two reasoning for each? Thanks. I don't necessarily disagree by the way.

P.edit: where Amished tell?

There wasn't an Amished. inte said that Pizza was a horrible player and said fuck you to anyone who says Amished.

Hezlucky - The amished tell is when someone replaces into a game and basically apologizes for his predecessor's scummy actions. The thought is that because you know you're town, you never have to apologize for it because they didn't do anything anti-town if they're town, and if you apologize or try to make amends that means that you're scum. It works sometimes, but not always.

But, Hez - you didn't answer my question. What do you think about inte?

by vijay2vasandani
Yeah, as Tammy says, Amished tell applys to thinking you're predecessor was scummy, not necessarily a bad player.

Leela came from where? Has the slot been uberlurking?

I don't know about you, but this game so far is different in that it doesn't seem to be about scumreads, but about TOWN reads. And since that seems to be the case, it's been about the LACK of townreads=scummiest.

BTW in the last game I played with inte he did a really good job nailing the scum and nobody paid any attention to him.

If inte is town I will look at Yates again.

But PereV needs to die.

I knew you wouldn't have a read on him Hez, I was just wondering what you're first impression was.

Still feeling like Pere is an easy mislynch.

my Yates read is because of a game we played together where pizzadudes played the EXACT same way and it looks to me like hes completely disregarding his experience with pizza to back up a "scum read" on him

PeregrineV has been snipe posting up until he has garnered attention, so obvious he has no pro-town intentions

Scott Brosius is a hard one... i feel myself nodding in agreement at his posts, but people who change votes too much (yes its a stupid reason to not like someone but w/e) really irk me. im fencesitting on this one :p

if you want to talk about Korlash's mention of the thee pronged skills of a mafia player, (Political/Deceptive/Deductive) you can say i excel the most at deceptive/deductive, but fall really short on the political side

can you explain more? his posting has been largely unhelpful in actually gaining insight on players alignment. most of his early play seems to be arguing with MoI and Korlash rather than trying to gather a real read

we can talk this out beb

lets assume there are at least 2 of the 8 people left are scum

assuminhg no PR's affect the game, that leaves only 1 mislynch till MyLo, if we don't hit scum

lets make this count boys

im bored so ima go make a vca of votes soon
