They go around dousing people in gas each Night and then on a single night they ignite the gas and kill everyone they doused.
Yeah, this is the correct version IIRC.

@mod: HYPOTHETICALLY speaking, if an infected person were to claim they were infected for the purpose of hoping someone had a cure, Would it be considered throwing the game?

Gross.... ok. Well.... I have to trust that town is equally stacked then.
Gotta have faith-uh faith-uh faith-AHHH
The assumption is that very few people have it at first and it grows exponentially. But IDK if that is how it works or not. If that's the case, then the Mafia are actually already "infected".

Since you should strive to achieve your current win condition, this would likely count as not playing towards your win condition. (Getting cured does not advance the Infected win condition.)

Good point! Quoting this so I can read it while I type.

Actually I think we’re both wrong but I don’t get it. I thought infected meant they became mafia. Why would mafia kill their own?
They possess the ability to “factionally infect... “so I think the assumption that they just gain the alignment without learning who the people are is correct. And” possess the ability” is vague. It doesn’t necessarily mean by choice but abilities generally are a choice. And then the word “and” so they can both infect AND kill an infected on the same night.

Am sad. But ok I respect that.

I’m curious as to the NAR on that. I’m assuming it all resolves at the end of the night so night 1 a person may get infected, so start of day 2 they get an altered role pm. Until such point as they gain immunity and become town again.

At which point they would be free to share anything they learned from the experience.
