Yep, that's correct hewitt.

Yeah I got a no.

Ok, so we need whoever is next to check out 41 for us and verify it.

Fantastic. We're almost done with this.
So, to verify: I'm asking if {74, 14, 39, 23, 51, 41} contains a Very Good, right? And we're expecting a yes answer.

by VP Baltar
As far as I can see, yep. Maybe let others check in to see if they have any thoughts, but that should be it.

There are too many NO's. It's not normal. Someone is lying. We're being scr***d.
Nothing much we could do about it while it was going on. But we can do something
post hoc
and catch us some scum, because circumventing a unfavorable result is not going to be so easy if the results are suspect.
If we don't catch scum, we'll semi-confirm a townie - maybe. That might force the scum's hand into bringing more players with pro-town credibility. I don't know. I'm so angry and feel so powerless, I'm not thinking straight.
Gah! I'm pulling my hair out. I hate this.

Carrie is taken aback for a moment at the strange torqoise face bulging from the shoulders where Tabris' head used to sit.
Look, you need to relax. You were flipping out before and wanted to change the plan when we got a couple nos in a row. Changing the plan is not going to help us find the Very Good answer we seek.
If Talilan lied, we are screwed. If hewitt lied, we can check that. We can have Dweezil ask hewitt's question again if we wanted and see if he gets a no as well. If he does, then it almost certainly has to be 41.

Actually, it has just dawned on me that Tabris could be the liar among us. He has certainly been making quite the show throughout these proceedings and it does ring a bit false to me.
What do people think about using Dweezil's question to reask Tabris' question? If it's still no, then I guess we would vote 41.
I don't know. Tabris just seems really over the top and has been shown to be pretty awful in the onstage decisions.

I have to admit that this has all felt a little too easy.
Let me ask it this way, and the math nerds can all chime in - what's the check that'll net us the most Decepticons if somehow this whole thing goes south?

Also we only have like 36 hours before we dock, so we need to figure this out quickly.

Yeah. I think you should double-check someone else's numbers, so at least we can find scum or be more confident with the results we have.
If Talilan lied, we ARE screwed, so why not double-check Talilan. I'd be sad if you double-checked me because it's a waste of time.

by VP Baltar
Well, we should be checking the person with think is most likely to have lied.

Eh. I'm more iffy on Tabris (GaB) than I am on Death (Talilan), personally. The only thing that would make me want to recheck Death is that Death's result is what put us on this path.
Just to keep this updated:
Kelly (SL): {74, 14, 39, 23, 51} = no
Carrie (VP): {74, 14, 39, 23, 51, 18, 52, 37, 69} = no
Death (Tal): {74, 14, 39, 23, 51, 63, 47, 66, 20, 34, 5, 56, 41} = yes
Tabris (GaB): {74, 14, 39, 23, 51, 63, 47, 66, 20} = no
Godwin (Thok): {74, 14, 39, 23, 51, 34, 5} = no
Morcerf (hewitt): {74, 14, 39, 23, 51, 56} = no

My info is good. 74, 14, 39, 23, 51, 63, 47, 66, 20, 34, 5, 56, 41 contains at least one very good.
I think at this point I'd rather check 41 (which is, I believe, a very good, if no-one is lying).

But if noone is lying then there's not point in checking 41 because it's guaranteed to be our Very good.
Therefore, the proper play would be to check one of the previous players wouldn't it?
Posted: Fri Nov 20, 2009 8:44 am
by Talilan
Or check Hewitt, because if Hewitt lied, we can still know for certain which is the very good.
As far as I understand, checking me gives us nothing (if I lied), and checking GaB gives only a 1 in 4 chance, if she lied. Checking a lying Thok we get a 50% shot at a very good.
But if Hewitt lied we find a scum and a very good. So I'm happy with that if you want to check a player rather than 41.

I'm inclined to agree that checking Hewitt is the best play.

(Unless of course there is more than one liar, in which case we're screwed anyway).
I completely understand now why you were so insistent about the towniest players being onstage today, VP.

So the idea is that I check {74, 14, 39, 23, 51, 56} and I should get a no, just as hewitt did. I'm still thinking it might help more if I back up another step but I'm not about to attempt all the math that's involved there so I'm okay with this too.

Just don't wait toooo long, remember we also need time to vote.

There's not really math involved. If someone lied, we need to know about it. Right now I feel myself, SL, and thok are trustworthy. So really, it's a matter of you checking either hewitt and clinching our decision of 41 or going back to investigate someone like goofball and see if we're off course with this set of four.
It's more of a gut call on who you don't trust than it is a math thing.
And yes, we do need to decide soon. I'm leaving tomorrow and will be traveling all day, so I need to vote early in the morning.
For now, however:
Vote 41

Sweet, awesome so everybody thinks I'm likely to have lied. That's pretty cool I guess. Have fun rechecking my answers. Totally legit, I'm so over this.

Has bolding votes fallen out of fashion?

Why would anyone bold their vote before we are ready to vote? Also, if you are so concerned about it, why are you not voting yourself?
