also I hope I didn't upset you with that crack about not paying attention to you Majiffy. I did focus more on Nacho's opinions but it's mostly because his style of play makes more sense to me. You're more into optimizing strategy, I'm more into tuning my reads and finding other town players to work with.

It was frustratingly difficult to work with players in this game because of all the people I thought were town who were sitting on your wagon for the latter half of the game.

Don't worry I rarely take anything very seriously in mafia.

And yeah, I was pissed because I was reading a good majority of the wagon as town. That's one of the reasons I couldn't let go of lynching Pope.

your comment about my having little effect for the number of posts I made was right, mrbungle. I had difficulty getting stuck into the game before vegito replaced in. The early interactions looked like a lot of town on town squabbling for the most part. The main thing I came away from all that was a town read on bacde and a false scum read on Dr Pepper.

I went back to the start of the thread and reread a couple of times because I would literally forget my impressions of players. I don't think that has ever happened before in a game.

i'm not sure how any of you thought drppr could be mafia, especially after the ragequit. one of the things that's bugged me about mafiascum is how people can replace out seemingly at whim. i've completed two games so far, and in both games i've seen people ragequit which in my eyes confirmed them as town. and sure enough, they were town.

so drppr blows up, gets all emotional, and ragequits. does anyone think scum would actually do that? there are several reasons why I think they wouldn't. first, it's a dick move. when you have scumbuddies you really don't want to let them down. second, it's kinda guaranteed to attract attention. next, it's very unsportsmanlike. it's bad enough that you're quitting just because people think you're scum, but if you actually are mafia? imo someone who quits because they get outed as scum is showing lots of disrespect to the other players, and the integrity of the game. and lastly... i just don't think mafia are prone to displaying anger or sadness in the thread... at least not to the extent that drppr did. so when I read that people were still suspicious of drppr after the quit, and suspicuious of vegito after vegito was being extremely townie.... i didn't know what to make of it

i would like to play in a game where people are only allowed to place out due to real life reasons. letting people just quit when they get mad, or even letting them quit because they're not having fun kinda ruins the integrity of the game imo.

yeah, I agree that dr pepper should have looked town after that quit. I'm not sure that scum players are less prone to quitting or flaking, though. They just don't generally make as big a deal of it.

that's actually exploitable. A lot of site meta is exploitable, actually.

well, say you allow town players to ragequit when they get so pissed off because everyone wants to lynch them for what they perceive as terrible reasoning. so if you're going to let town replace out like this, you also have to let scum replace out for the same reasons, right? do we really want to play in a place where scum and town alike will just replace out whenever enough people start accusing them?

Town shouldn't replace out because everyone's ganging up on them. It's part of the game. I agree that people shouldn't be allowed to replace out, except for certain reasons.

Im sorry for the way I acted when I asked to be replaced. Part of it was RL stress and it was a snap decision which I would eventually regret. It wasnt fair cause what bungles said is right, it really does take away the scumhunting if a player ragequits because it confirms them in a way. I did take offense to everyone saying I was "fakehunting" when I actually was trying to hunt, but thats not a good reason to replace out if pressure really is a natural part of this game. And if I ever snap like this again and flake, I wouldnt really be someone people want to be in a game with. So to everyone, sorry for the whole freak out, hope that none of you have sworn off being in a game with me for that incident alone.

One of the advantages to this game format with multiple weeks per game day is that you can step away from a game and give it a rest for a few hours if you need to.

yeah this game was much more fun than the other. that might just be due to it not being a newbie game and there being more people who seem to care

too bad we didn't get to see any role interactions, even though I think it was very town favored. just masons alone in a 9 player game seems a little imba.

it doesnt matter thou, because people shouldn't be allowed to replace out unless they have legitimate irl issues. anything other than that cheapens the game
