Gg all, I think scum would have had this if TD hadn’t shot FF. Despite my teasing, lots of respect to you icon for not conceding, and more now that I know you were informed of what happened re: Gandalf and the PM.

Gandalf — I didn’t think you meant anything by the PM, but I know outside communication is forbidden, which is why I reported it to Persivul straight away and didn’t respond to you.

This was fun, but I don’t like that it can be auto after 1 night (or more or less auto if there’s more than 1 scum left)

I’d definitely be interested in playing again if there’s a way to get around that design-wise

Oh, and my bad on asking for copy pasting from the mason thread. That was because I just finished a game where someone copy pasted (and didn’t use the site quote function) a series of posts from the neighbourhood in game. As there was no reprimand there, I assumed that the way to interpret the rule about quoting private communication only applied to actually using the quote function. I’ll make sure to check with individual mods in the future.

Props to Tiphaine for taking that shot on FF, could've been a completely different end otherwise. The breaking strat still should've worked though I guess, since we just pair everyone together and don't put Icon and FF in the same pair, while Gandalf barricades.

I'm not sure that would be enough would it? I mean in that situation you wouldn't counter claim (cause you'd still lose everyone shooting between the two of you) so we'd know the mason claim was real

he'd barricade, we'd all shoot, you'd again have the dilemma of either killing the mason and being shot by the person shooting you, shooting the person shooting you and the mason living, or barricading and losing the 2v1 vote to strand the next day

Let's work through the idea of last surviving scum gains 1X passive BP.

If 1 scum and 1 mason and the circle kill idea is used, all that's left is the mason (or the person the scum was supposed to target) and the scum. Scum wins. So, that break is fixed by adding the BP.

If 2 masons, then 2 town plus the scum are alive and scum loses.
Question: is this necessarily a flaw? Point being that town gets down to a single scum with both their masons still alive, don't they deserve to win?

If 2 scum, pairs are used, 1 mason is odd man out and barricades, scum aren't paired together: the scum SM dies, but scum goon is saved by BP. 1 town is left alive. Scum win.

If 2 scum, pairs are used, 2 masons barricade, scum aren't paired together: 2 town and a scum are together, scum lose.

So, no, the addition of BP by itself doesn't solve it.

Maybe the solution is to just remove the masons? The idea was that the masons gave town the chance to coordinate a 2-shot kill and potnetially take out a barricaded scum, but they never seem to get used for that anyway. If they provide a breaking strategy, maybe we just get rid of them.
