So funny story... I submitted my action sometime Tuesday night just before going to bed, and all night I dreamt with anxiety about not investigating RC and should I Have done that, should I change it, what if it's a waste, etc.

You need not bother. People will come around, and realise you’re the true enemy! Don’t bother faking things when everyone knows you’re the mafia, and is just waiting for RC to come and finish the game by voting you!

This is really normal and figuring out when a push on you is in bad faith is a useful scum hunting skill

Even if you had been mislynched it’s not the end of the world — it avoids a PR having to claim, and seeing who was behind the push can be useful to the remaining town in finding the scum. Notice that RC was partly on yimmy/saus bc he thought they were angling to lynch you
Ultimately it’s a team game, you weren’t toxic, you didn’t do anything that hurt town, so I think your play was fine even if you could work on obvtowning a little more
