Billy is hiding behind walls, asking pointless questions and generally playing it safe. He’s also nitpicking on small things and making them out to be bigger than they are, for example: the Skitter incident where she forgot she hadn’t voted suji, and me calling him a good town player, which he disagreed with and reconsidered his read on me based on, even though I believe I’ve complimented him on his Town game previously.
During the Jackal mini game he was getting his hands dirty, asking relevant questions, not afraid to express unpopular opinions etc. He was more generally scumread as a result, but I could see the townie mindset. This game is like his scum game - always staying behind the pace of the game and making long, information filled posts rather than actively interacting and sorting players.- Sirfetchd

Are you seeing mentality beyond meta? Bc meta changes a lot in the space of six months when you are new. Which is why I am tentative on any meta based argument.
I get where you're coming from, but me looking at that explanation sees someone just not being 'in' to this game and trying to get in with something attainable for their style. Like contrasted to Xayah who has been actively self defending when they were initially under minimal pressure reeks scum if anyone was doing it.
To give an example on the other side Ducky is frequently cheeky as scum or at least was when I was around, but I'm happy to let it go bc it's conceivably town and I agree with stances.- Sirfetchd

My main reason for not giving credence is that I know from experience that I am very difficult to read for people who know me because I can be playing multiple games concurrently and have completely different game styles in them even though they are at the same time just based on how in to the games I feel.
This is also regularly exhibited when town meta is shown as scum bc they are enjoying or hating the game, or scum meta is should as town for the same sorts of reasons.
But yeah I can respect that there's some awkward stuff in there. Not going to move from Xayah to a vanity wagon though.- Luca Blight

I have some experience of getting reads on particular players like this. A while back there was a new player called UcVoyager who played maybe 5 games with me and was scum in at least 3. In every scum game I could read him like a book on D1 and pushed relentlessly for his lynch until it happened. He thought I was just tunneling regardless but I could clearly see differences between his Town and scum game. I feel similarly about Billy here.- Luca Blight

I believe Wooper defended Billy earlier with: ‘why would Scum Billy drop his Luca townread when Luca is generally townread’
And the answer is to discredit my opinion. Of course as scum he’d like to plant the seed of doubt in people’s minds that maybe the guy that’s pushing him isn’t Town. And it’s not like he did anything with his read or committed anything either way - quite the opposite, he just said he now isn’t sure about me.
I agree with SS that to change your read on someone based on saying they’re a good town player doesn’t seem sincere.
And don’t think of Billy as a newb - he had plenty of people fooled in his last scum game because they underestimated him.- rb

as already statedIn post 1156, Sirfetchd wrote:What is with this idea you gotta Lynch in the low part of the draft. I feel the opposite.
if you're town you should lynch whoever you think is most likely to flip scum, nothing more and nothing less. especially on day 1- rb

Rb, Xayah’s reads are pretty decent, are they not?
I think it explains her position of defending herself as opposed to game-solving, as she’s happy with the Frost wagon. It’s not optimal town play, but I don’t get the feeling she’s scum atm.
I think billy is the best lynch today. I’d be lying to myself if i voted anyone else.- Sirfetchd

i don't like them because they echo the generally agreed upon town-sentiment, and her strongest scumread just so happens to be the other strongest current wagon in the game in AaronFrostIn post 1214, Luca Blight wrote:Rb, Xayah’s reads are pretty decent, are they not?

she deliberately avoids saying anything controversial or providing anything insightful
if i wanted to make a readslist custom-designed to not rattle any cages and to keep me alive, as opposed to help solve the game, that's roughly what it'd look like
do you agree?- rb

I was the original person who scumread Aaron in the first place lol. You act like I need to have some spicy new reads to be town. No, I don't. Do I agree with some peoples reads? Yes, but it's not like these are new. You can see I had early townreads before this. Stop trying to paint a picture like I need to have 'spicy' reads to be town.- Sirfetchd

i think that i'm happy going with any lynch that Luca, sirfetchd and myself unanimously have a scumlean or better on for this day1
i'm a bit miffed that so much of the day has been spent with multiple slots defending other slots, as opposed to them looking for scum themselves.
but again, there's more people doing this than there are scum in the game...so at some point this weird af defending-other-players-instead-of-trying-to-find-scum became a thing that happens. nauseatingly pointless and meandering imo, but i'm super reluctant to start scumreading people for doing this.
it'd be fucking awesome if people stopped doing this though ngl- rb
