Systematically I think when I've unvoted in situations like this because scared of being wrong, lacking confidence, etc. I've been wrong to do so and that unvote was fundamentally a bad decision

It's worth noting he made the 4v3 comment without the presence of mind to realize that at that rate town has already lost so it doesn't even make sense as a genuine thought process

Obviously scum knows this is false so it's conceivable that he felt if people bought the tell, they'd think he was town for it.
Thus making it worth faking. Also the timing of it, as RC pointed out.
