I actually strongly think this setup should be reflavored anyway.

The firefighter douses the trees with water, but they are primed by what is implied to be a gas or oil based reagents. Water isn't a very effective extinguisher for fires based on gas or oil so the setup spreads dangerous misinformation about fire safety.

I think it should be reflavored to be about like promoting students to try to become professors but the graduate students have their theses rejected unless the have nepotism ties to the administration so the disgruntled students take another year of graduate school as angry stumps
