People. I was high and drunk when I voted for Farside. My initial post was my first post. At this point I'm asking about theory. I don't see why early meta reads should be any less legitimate than other early reads. Isn't meta most useful when you have the least information from other sources?

so you want to have a pedantic debate about the worthiness of early meta is what you're saying? too many scums, not enough votes. Let's pretend I also have a vote on Lord Gurgi atm.

I just like talking about theory. It's a better topic than avatars or other random things.

as opposed to getting the game started and scumhunting?
pop is claiming a meta scum read on farside, you think that's legit?

I thought he was not claiming anything and that he thought town, not scum, anyway.

Prozac, I assume you're always drunk.
So pops has a meta town read on farside and LG has a meta scum read on farside, but he was drunk AND high (one substance was not enough?). WTF is this shit.

Amrun made a post saying "blah blah farside is trying to set up girl's club to be on a posse's goodside and not get lynched seem town and blah blah blah"
I don't see any reason to interpret that post as humor, it looked serious to me, I don't get where people are going off saying I'm that-guy-that-took-rvs-the-wrong-way.
So I took a couple of seconds to say that I've seen farside start off a thread with a girl's club as town, so it's probably not a valid tell one way or the other. I don't have a metascumread or metatownread on farside, I just have evidence that the tell Amrun was trying to use is more a product of her social nature rather than her alignment.
I gave up very quickly because my last game with Amrun was an ugly, painful wallfest in which I never got much accomplished. So.

I don't like how he quickly jumped unto the Gurgi wagon. The bandwagoning itself isn't what's scummy, it's more of how he's "ooh, look at me, I'm scumhunting!".

I'm here reading what I missed.

This is what I missed:
- 5 pages of an stupid RVS.
- A set of unnecessary questions.
- A group of people trying to stay in rvs. (A)
- A group of people trying to get to srs bsnss (from post 92). (B = popsoctown, Amrun, VPBaltar, vollkan, farside, Lord Gurgi )
So let's conclude that there is at least one scum in group A and at least one scum in group B. I'd say that it's more likely we find scum in group B just for the fact that scum want to look active in the breaking point. Bonus points if your attempt it's as weak as claiming meta in RVS and you have a wagon already.
Vote: popsoctown.
LordGurgi is an special case. I don't like the drunk defense but the "missing vote" feels genuine and probably something that could have been done in PMs rather than in an open thread.
In other news, Spyrex is scum.

I'm on some crazy ass V/LA at the moment. I just finished up Scumstorm and now I'm traipsing around Vancouver until next week.
I will make an effort to catch up, but don't expect much help from me right now.
It sounds like I haven't missed much anyways.

Why are scum more likely to be scumhunting than town? What is your criteria for distinguishing between fake scumhunting and real scum hunting? Do you think EK's latest vote was non-serious?

My theory is that at least one scum is going to take the "serious approach" and try to look active in the breaking point, following also the criteria that scum don't put all eggs on one basket. Also, the "serious approach" basket had least people on it.
My criteria for distinguishing fake scumhunting from the real one was exactly the one that made me vote popsoctown: using weak reasons to get out of rvs (using meta in a rvs post).
I don't remember anything serious from elvis_kints, tbh.
Do you see anything wrong with my reasoning?

No not really, it's pretty boring.

I find only scum do the group A/group B trick. It gives the illusion of scumhunting when you're really saying anyone could be scum.
VOTE: scooby
PEDIT: I've never seen scum that organized, dividing up serious and joking approaches. Frankly, I think all RVS is meaningless, and I find the assumption that scum will purposefully have different reactions to things unfounded. If anything, scum try and act like the rest of the town, which could be serious or joking.
