I'm thinking it's possible that the raiders have a token pool, and whoever the scum are have a token pool of their own.

I don't like eyestott early. He seems to be fishing both in his gnome post and in his follow up.

What possible benefit would there be to the scum knowing if someone else is a gnome?
What post are you referring to when you say follow up?

no mod will ever answer anything that gives away to much setup info.
↑ elusive wrote:I'm inclined to take risks so I like Tier 3
If you believe(d) that scum couldn't get gear what risk do you believe we are taking?
This is the bottom line for me. Like we'd deff use a cop/watcher and still most likely tracker tonight. A vig, we'd maybe not use right away and I'm seeing no evidence for why town would be better served with buying a vig other to say "we bought a vig!"
Nero, start with post #30 of mine. I'm not sure. I feel like it would be too sad tbh for town to waste their funds to supply a scum. We only really have 2 strong chances to purchase from each tier and after that we are at about 0 and have to wait at least 2+ days. It just feels wrong but I'm not 100% sure of what is or isn't possible with this mechanic.
Then, while the obvious allure of vigilante there's also a 50% chance at Jailer which as already stated is also a good role. Jailer can function as doctor\protector and\or roleblocker. Jail a scummy person and see if there is no NK. Jail a person who they think is a power role or who has been outed as a town power role and viola doctor abilities. I just like Tier 3 the most.
eystott, there is a possible benefit for example if all races have the same racial ability. Since race itself doesn't determine alignment, a scum that was gnome or another race would know that gnome has the ability, for example, to "steal a vote" every certain number of days which may help them determine who to kill if they know everyone's races. At least that is what I thought in reaction to that discussion.

We really need more votes for tier 3. The vig will carry us.

It's a 50/50 chance, Rampage. What would you do with jailer if that's what you got?

@elusive: I see what you mean. thing is, I really don't think my ability is that useful. Any other gnomes will probably agree with me (still not asking them to reveal) on this.

It's still better than tracker. Prevent a kill AND find a scum.

Each race likely has some attributes by identifying town attributes you determine who to kill first.

Okay, that's a possibility from a scum mindset.
However, my racial ability is pretty much useless. So, if I'm scum, asking that will just make me less likely to kill any gnomes that show up.

The same should also go for class, i think.
Pfirst sentence was a joke. In my previous post, I had just said people shouldn't out their race.
My second sentence was referring to that. As in, people shouldn't reveal their class.

what does it depend on? Eg. would a survivor give 2 tokens or 4?

I'm assuming that it depends on how malignant said 3P is.

The gear is permement..so once it is equipt the person will have it all game
Saying that having an investigator role early in the game is the most beneficial to the town
Tier 1 and 2 are the most beneficial for us at this point.... Not quite understanding why townies would be voting tier three
Eyetott comment about his racial ability being useless really makes me think he/she is town

I think those wanting vig shot are tunnel-visioned on the best case scenario... it landing on a player equipped to use it.
But then, what if it doesn't? I can think of a couple people (myself included) that I wouldn't want to have the vig shot, especially in the early game.
It's a double-edged sword, but it seems some folks only want to look at possible benefits without considering the drawbacks of a bad vig.
It's not like the vig can out themselves and ask for advice & protection... there's no doctor!
Regardless of whether we buy T1 or T3, T2 should be tomorrow's vote. If we luck out and land a doctor, our first PR can out themselves for conf town & ask for protection. Though how we'd know without exposing the doc, I'm fuzzy on. =/

All of the tier two abilities can prevent their target being nightkilled.
Trouble is, how do we knew Theyre confirmed town?
