Wow, I fail at reading posts. I didn't know that he had dropped that idea, now I see it.
Unvote

I had FoSed him earlier for the same reason and I was under the impression that he was still pushing for a scum>town plan.

Wait, I'm your biggest suspect and all you do is FoS me? >_>

I seem to parrot others because that's all I can see that I can do what with all the crazy comprehensive analyses of people going on just before I log on to this place. I'm really sorry that I haven't been scumhunting as much as I should have; I've had a really bad week and very little time for online mafia games.

I'll see what I can dig up.

Well, I left my vote on after the random stage because Kinetic was so fiercely aggressive on page one. It was almost a freudian scum-slip, I thought.

But I don't think his aggressive stance on nameclaim is enough to lynch him just yet. Its almost more suspicious to see people keep this debate going longer. It's distractive, and I believe detrimental to the town.

In the same way, I think a name claim is going to be just as distracting.

Then again, this
is
day one.

Anyway, on the subject of Kinetic again, as ooba said, it does sound to me that Kinetic does honestly believe a nameclaim will help the town.

I'm not sure who I suspect yet, but I'd like to
unvote
for now.

I know this may seem somewhat rude, but could you please pay more attention to the game? In your last 3 posts you've made a bad vote because of a mis-read, gotten statements/actions by joost and I mixed up, and asked for info that exists on the previous page. At the very least, review the last several pages. If you had taken the time to do so, you would have seen my vote on joost and my reasons.

You're right. I'm normally not like this, I've just had a really rough week and I've been out of sorts for a while. I guess that's been messing with my head a little. I think I'll take a short break from this (in whatever way I do that) to clear my head a little.

Hi, I have an account named "pulsewidth" on the mafiascum.net forums. Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to access the site for at least the next 6 months. My only access to the Internet is on my employer's network and today the website was blocked. I am currently in several games (ChannelDelibird's Stargate Atlantis, DrippingGoofball's Food Fight, and I also signed up to be in Clerk's Mafia.) Please let them know to seek replacements.

Unvote; Vote Tarlahindur
After thinking about it, I still believe your claim. However (and this is an epiphany, of sorts), I believe the reason you don't want to claim names is that you don't want us to know your alignment. (One question - do you die with the player who targets you? That hasn't been specified yet, to say nothing of saying you wouldn't mention whether or not you do. So do you kill the targeter and live to play another day? I understand if you don't want to respond to this based on my just voting you :D) This seems like a fairly cut-dried game, where there are good guys (humans / human aligned aliens) and bad guys (wraiths) Course, like I said, I'm still trying to figure out how this show works (actually, if my memory serves, I may have stated the exact opposite opinion a few pages back XD) and this is turning into idiotic ramblings.

I don't want to claim because I might still be able to counterclaim scum should they claim one of two names (my own role name, and a role name that is unlikely to be in the game as town given my presence here). Don't bother asking what the second role name is - that would ruin any chance of me counterclaiming foolish scum, and the second role name in question will be blazingly obvious when my own rolename is finally revealed. (If you're wondering why I didn't mention that second rolename earlier, it's because I didn't think about the second rolename until the mass name claim discussions.)

I have, however, breadcrumbed my rolename, and will produce the breadcrumb if and when I need to claim in full.

I'm not sure whether I die if I am NK'ed (my flavor is ambiguous on the matter), and I see no reason to inquire further at this time.

Hi all,

Just FYI: I will be unavailable today and tomorrow. Had a death in the family. :( I will return to the game with a long post on Thursday.

I'm sorry to hear that, Jester, take your time.

Vote: Spurgistan

For trying to get Tarhalindur to name claim. I am in favor of mass claiming, not just have one power role claim.

Sorry to hear it, Jester. My sympathies to you and your family.

Spurgistan, I can understand your thinking, but unless you can think of a specific character(s) from the show that would support his claimed ability as scum -- and if so, please note that I do NOT want you to name those characters here -- I wonder whether the suspicion really merits a vote.

Joost, I didn't see anything in spurgistan's post that looked like a request for a name claim. Where'd you get that idea?

Thanks for your sympathies, joost and Gemelli, much appreciated. She died on Thursday and the preparations and services were Sunday and Monday, so by the time I posted, everything was and is done. :( But I'm 3000 miles away from my notes until I return home late tonight, and I don't like to play mafia without them. But I also didn't want people to comment on me being absent.

That said, I feel like we need to get off Tar's claim for a bit. It feels like talking about this claim and claiming in general is either a scum tactic being used to distract us, or the scum are just taking advantage of the distraction to keep the game content-free. If people want to think this or that person is suspicious because of their
reaction
to the claim, that's a good thing. But let's get off pressuring Tar to give any more details for now.

Like I said, a much longer post tomorrow.

The vote combined with that statement indicates to me that the only for Tar to get rid of the vote is to give up all the information on his role. Tar said that the only information we don't have is his name and he also said why he does not want to give it to us (a good reason in my opinion).

Spur has not mentioned any scummy behaviour from Tar, all he said is that he believes he doesn't want us to know his alignment. This seems like forcing a name claim to me. Supicious behaviour and that is why I voted for Spur.

While I can see your argument about this being suspicious behavior, you lost me by stating that this seems like "forcing" a name claim. He explained what he found scummy about Tar's position, and placed a vote. He did not ask for a claim at all. Personally, I'm inclined to view BOTH of your votes as spurious and/or opportunistic.

Also,
unvote
now that we seem to have gotten this mass-claim discussion out of our systems :)
