A great lynch is one in which scum is killed. There is no other great lynch in this game. How is it possible that a good lynch yesterday was better than a great lynch today?

This is actually tough because no one is really acting scummy. I would gamble right now that the scum is either MissMoo or Sarcastro, but unfortunately my best craplogic reason for suspecting them is because I know they are/were both committed to voting for townies. (MissMoo on QB, Sarcastro on Me)

Sarcastro seems to be putting less thought into it at this point, so:

Okay, I'm not sure you're getting this. A "good lynch" would be a lynch where we have, say, a 30% chance of getting the scum. A "great lynch" might be a lynch where we have, say, a 60% chance of getting the scum. These percentages are arbitrary, so don't bother arguing them. The point is that because we don't
know
who the scum are, it is not all-or-nothing, it's a matter of percentages. Seriously, this is not rocket science, and it doesn't seem to me like you're even thinking about what you're saying.

Oh yeah, and there's the fact that the whole thing was a
reference to a quote
. The point was that I would rather have killed OtM, but I wanted the day to end and Ben was a decent lynch. Again,
why do you think what I did was scummy
? Give me a real reason. What did I do that scum are more likely to do than town are? Why? Your reasoning is pathetically inadequate right now.

I'm just pointing out that kilm RV'd missmoo. She showed disinterest in OtM's behavior. Is our scum killing randomly? Or is he going after anyone who might remotely be problemsome...

Ok, I'll go with your percentages (Even though I don't agree with them)

How is a 30% chance of a lynch day 1 better than 60% chance day 2?

And if you were only 30% sure of the lynch, why would you hammer?

Uh, are you kidding? Day 1 and Day 2? How, precisely, does my hammering Ben yesterday prevent us from lynching OtM (my personal "great lynch") today? Yeah, it doesn't. And we
had
to lynch someone yesterday. So I'm really not sure what you're talking about. The "today" and "tomorrow" referred to in my quote were obviously not the
literal days
of the game, because that would make
no sense whatsoever
. The point of the quote was to illustrate that I didn't believe Ben was the best possible lynch, but he was good enough that I was willing to hammer. Besides, I doubt there was even a chance to lynch OtM yesterday.

And how sure do you think we should be before lynching someone, exactly? 30% is more than good enough for Day 1.

That's the problem with your statements-your fine with only being 30% sure. The stronger your being sure, the more likely we are to win, especially with only 1 scum out there.

And I still don't get how in any sense a good lynch is better than a great lynch. It didn't HAVE to be Ben. If you only thought he was a good lynch, then take one for the team and defend him and try to find a GREAT lynch.

There were 11 players alive. That means that from my point of view, everyone would normally have a 10% chance of being scum. So yeah, if I think there's a 30% chance someone is scum, I'm going to take those odds. Oh, and there's the fact that I told you that
the percentages were arbitrary and don't matter
.

You are being obstinate and ridiculous. I have explained to you multiple times what I meant, and yet you keep insisting upon some bizarre interpretation of my words.
I thought Ben was a decent lynch, so I hammered him.
What about this is so difficult to understand? I don't like to make ad hominem attacks, but you are, quite honestly, acting like a moron right now.

What is your hangup? Seriously, it was one statement that didn't, and doesn't, mean much. Clearly, if he thought Ben was town, he would have defended against him. However, Sarc thought that he was a decent enough lynch to justify ending the day. He had made it very clear that he thought OTM was scum, so defending Ben wasn't necessary. Clearly people weren't following Sarc for an OTM lynch, and remember, Ben was already at lynch-1. It wasn't as if Sarc did something unprecedented and ground-breaking. I don't know where the big problem is, but this conversation is getting absurd.

kilm was much more subtle in showing disinterest to you. Killing sarc would imediately implicate you. If someone else was playing scum they would kill sarc so that you become a near immediate target.

Yeah Wifom a bit but it's not like we have anything else to go off of...

SO BURN IN HELL!!!

Prods going out to everyone who hasn't posted since the most recent vote count. That's Sarcastro, tyhess, Aegor, and Kr4mer.

They each will have 72 hours to post, or else I will begin searching for replacements for them.

Once activity issues have been resolved, I will institute a one-week deadline.
