hmm, i'm surprised to hear you say so far right. i think that there are lot of things that would come to mind first before boeing if it was in the 80s or 90s.

my impression here is somewhere in the middle – most people probably know boeing as just a consumer airline company, but (i'm almost certain) they also manufacture some planes and such for the military. i think the real question is where in the 40-60 range that would put them.

i mean, i think that you would think of them first if you were trying to convey a roughly equal balance (40-60). i think that most people when they think of boeing first and foremost think of it as a consumer airline company? i agree that they represent "war, but not too much war", i just think that putting 75-90 as a number for that sentiment is too high. ultimately the decision is yours, but 65 is about the highest i'm willing to guess, and i think more likely than not it is somewhat lower.

I'm good with 45, I think that feels about right to me - Boeing creates instruments of war but end of the day they're a company that profits off it rather than a party that specifically pursues it, and commercial air travel is such a large market outside of a war context that I feel it'd be left of 50

Still, I think they do contracts for the military. And even if they do other work besides, I'd say supplying war tools to the entities that actively wage war would put them on the right side of the line.

right is fair. I think judging from what has been said they're more militant than not. If you're manufacturing weapons for whole militaries i figure you're at least more than 50.

Granted, when i think boeing i definitely think more airplane than anything else so i can see why 45. But if you were trying to convey less than 50, surely you'd pick something that is more peaceful than it is warlike, right? I'm guessing it's probably 60ish but potentially a little higher
